Seeking a Preschool

Does anyone have any suggestions for a preschool for my son? I live in the Gilbert area and would like something fairly close. My son is almost 2 1/2 and is not potty trained yet. I am looking for a preschool for him to attend 2-3 times a week. I am looking for something that he can enjoy, have fun, and socialize with other children. I am NOT looking for a daycare. It seems like every "preschool" I look into is actually just a daycare that calls themselves a preschool. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

Look no further than Desert Sun Child Development Center!!

I am an assistant Teacher there, and my daughter goes there as well. They are NOT a day care center, the Toddler classes are all Mommy-N-Me (you stay with the child) and the 3 & 4 year-old classes all require parents to volunteer in the classroom as well. Depending on class size, it usually works out to about once a month you are in the classroom.
Please read about the philosophy of the place, I can almost guarantee you will fall in love with the place, I sure did!!

We are in our last week of Summer School, but the staff will be there again starting the week of August 5th if you would like to come check the place out.

If you are really motivated, you can try to check us out tomorrow, we will be in classes until noon.

Good luck!!

There is a preschool in Gilbert off of Greenfield and Baseline called either Bright Horizons or New Horizons, I can't remember which. My nephew has attended there for about a year and a half and they love it! They are in a light yellow house right off of Greenfield, just south of Pioneer Elementary School.

I don't think I am very close to you, but I have a preschool out of my home. It is not just a daycare. I have a few children that stay all day and some that come just for the preschool. We will be starting our new curriculum in August. Let me know if you would be interested. I am located off of Power and McKellips. We have a schedule that we follow daily including circle time, art, beginning reading and writing skills, math manipulatives, science exploration, water and sand table fun, dramatic play, puppets, music and creative movement and more!

My friend's son is 2 and he will be starting Carebear Preschool (2 year old program) in July. They have a waiting list..so you might have to see if they have an opening. www.carebearpreschool.com

Hi Allison,
I am opening a pre-school in August at J.'s Party Pad on Gilbert Road between Eliott and Warner. I have designed it as a mom, former teacher, and party planner. We will teach thematically with a very hands on approach. I am including aspects of Montessori that I love such as practical life and working at a child's own pace, just to mention a couple. I have a program for 2 year olds that are potty trained on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9-12 to get their feet wet, get them in transition mode for more days once they turn 3. There will be no more than 13 kids in the class. We are licensed as a commercial facility, but are located in a house to give it a personal, quaint setting. Please visit our website or call with any questions. www.jenniferspartypad.com ###-###-####.

Funny, I have 2 boys as well, and they are 2 1/2 and 11 weeks. I would suggest Montessori schools. The is one called the Montessori House but it is located at McKellips and Stapley area. http://www.montessori-house.com/ I know they don't start until August but they take children 2 and up. Not sure about the potty trained thing though.. you might want to ask.

My daughter went to Desert Sun Preschool. It is rated very high on greatschools.com. Every teacher is wonderful. I highly recommend Desert Sun Preshool. They have a mommy and me class then it starts 3 years old, then 4 years old, TK and Kindergarden. LOVE LOVE LOVE Desert Sun!
