Seeking a Pediatrician!!! - Overland Park,KS

Dr. Scott Dattel at St. Joseph is so great. Few of us have done the research on vaccines to know what you must know, and I talked with him about this when we first moved here a few years ago. He was fine with it, but did explain that most doctors aren't willing to take any risks, so they always insist on vaccines for all patients. He was open to our wishes, and he is SO GREAT. He also turned out to live across the street from us, so on even a more personal level, I can say that he is also a good man with a wonderful and kind family. I feel the same way and is struggling with vaccines. Dr holleman at pediatric associations down by st lukes on the plaza is very open and understanding. No

We also have Bluecross Blueshield, and we take our daughter to Johnson County Pediatrics. They are located just East of I-35 and 75th Street. They were the very first pediatric office in Johnson County, so they are well established and reputable. Everyone has been great at the office, and they offer walk-in hours Mon-Sat. Not sure where you are at but we have gone back to seeing a friend of ours, Dr. Bruce Scully, who is a family doctor rather than a pediatrican. We were asked not to return to our pediatrician's office because we refused to innoculate which tells them that we don't trust them. Dr. Scully understands that is our choice and doesn't give us grief.

We actually very rarely go to an MD. We see Dr. Britt Batchelor, our chiropractor. He see's our daughter free when he see's me and is againsts vaccines. If my daughter is feeling under the weather he has suggested things that we can get from the health food store that has worked better than the medication prescribed by a doctor for her friends. I only go to an MD if I think I need to have some testing done that my chiropractor can't do. Insurance doesn't normally pay for doctors that are more holistic so these are options that we have found that work best for us.

Hi A.. Not sure what part of town you are in but we go to Village Pediatrics. Our primary physician is Dr. Slaymaker and he is wonderful. The Nurse Practitioners are incredible. They have a walk-in clinic every morning, evening and Saturday... so convenient! The staff is friendly and helpful. I just can't say enough good things about them! And, they take a variety of BCBS plans.
