Looking for a new pediatrician in the West Bloomfield, Farmington Hills or Southfield area. One who without any doubts you think is wonderful and will not talk to you like you are stupid, push immunizations, keep you waiting over a 1/2 hr for a sick kid to be seen. Is there one out there? Please help?

I live in Farmington Hills and we see a fabulous Peds doctor in Farmington. Her name is Sandra Sabb. I can't say enough great things about her! She is with the office of Farmington Family Physicians on Orchard Lake Rd. Hope this helps!

Hi! I have been taking my two daughters to MY KIDS DOC in NOVI for the past 5 years. They are wonderful there. The Dr. we see is Dr. Hirsch. She knows what she's talking about and I have never gotten bad advice from her. The other docs are great too. The phone number is ###-###-#### and they are located in the DMC building on 12 mile Rd. Hope this helps!

My sons doctor is in Dearborn (off of Southfield freeway) at Fairlane Medical Center and I LOVE HER! I chose her for the exact reasons you discussed. She's aware of my views of immunizations and supports my decision, not quick to pass out antibiotics and is very gentle and understanding toward my son. She is in the office most days of the week. She works with several other doctors, male and female, that have also been very good to my son. I'm a first time mother and she has helped me out a lot. If you are interested in going to Fairlane let me know, I'll give you her name. I have HAP insurance.

We use Beverly Hills Pediatrics in Bingham Farms. Telegraph Road between 13 and 14 Mile Road. Dr. Dorsey and Dr. Obudzinski were my pediatricians many many years ago. They have walk in service every weekday from 8:30 - 9:30 for sick children and are open on saturday mornings. Their staff is also on call for after hours.

I am more than pleased with their services.

I agree with Claire. We love Dr. Schindler! We have waited in his waiting room a few times, but he always fits sick kids (and adults) in same day.

I go to bloomfield pediatrics and see Dr. Earles. She is amazing. Knows just how to treat children (and their mothers!) They get really busy around certain times, and there can be a wait, but it is well worth it to see someone you trust whole heartedly. My daughter is not immunized, fully healthy and happy to see her doctor! Good luck in your hunt.

Southfield Pediatrics Physicians PC

I love this office!! The receptionists are always nice and great with my son and every doctor we've seen has been wonderful! Our favorite is Dr. Busch - she always seems to remember us and ALWAYS calls a week after we've seen her (unless it's a regular checkup) to check up on my son. Definitely worth the trip! There's an office in West Bloomfield and Bingham Farms.

Dr David Schindler in Novi is exactly what you're looking for! He is a true family practice, he is wonderful with kids, does not push vaccinations or antibiotics unecessarily. He always has appts for sick kids the same day. We saw him for my daughter after she was born and now 4 years later the whole family is seeing him, including my nephew and best friend. This past year he also added a physician assistant named Michelle who is wonderful as well. It's a fabulous practice, I cannot say enough good things about it.

Hi R.,
Yes I think that there are Dr.'s out there that can give you most of what you need. However, I work for a pediatricians office and I can tell you by experience, sometimes you will wait, and sometimes you wont. Sometimes children come in that need to be treated on an emergency basis, and sometimes children need to be admitted to the hospital, when this happens it slows down the doc schedule. I work for Botsford Pediatrics and I think that all of our Dr's are wonderful, caring, teaching physicians. As far as pushing immunizations, if you have questions or concerns they can answer them, however I can tell you that all of our Dr's do believe in them. I have been in the healthcare field now for 13yrs, and it truely is amazing how many people are walking around with diseases, some know, and some dont. Kinda scary really. So if it were me, I'd rather immunize than not. Besides have you read the side affects on most over the counter meds, they have to tell you the side affects, even if it happens only one time. I habe been at the peds office now for 5 yrs and have not seen one single side affect from immunizations. Just thought I'd share with you.

hi R.,

i'm sure you've been given numerous suggestions on a great pediatrician at this point... i still wanted to take the time to include my daughter's pediatrician. his name is dr. martin levinson and he is with medical center peds in bingham farms. he is so incredible and i couldn't say enough great things about him or the practice. we actually moved to macomb county and nowhere near the office, but i would travel across the state to see him! he is truly a remarkable doctor! in addition, the practice offers a "nurse line" so that if you have questions, you can speak directly with a nurse... always makes me feel so much better! even more incredible is that a nurse will usually follow-up with you to make sure your child is doing better. they have 2 locations, one in bingham farms and the other is in west bloomfield. the number to the office i use is 248.642.kids. good luck!

Try Dr. Park-Davis, at Integrated Health Care in West Bloomfield. Her office is on Haggerty, in the Lakes building. I'm sorry, but I don't have the phone number handy.

We use her partner, Suzan Mokhayesh, as our FP. They are both excellent, will not talk down to you, will not push immunizations, and are more holistic than most doctors.

I really like Dr. Cheryl Saul-Sehy at Beverly Hills Pediatrics in Bingham Farms. They are at 32100 Telegraph Rd, Suite #110. ###-###-####. She is a really nice cross between the laid-back, friendly personality and a serious diagnostician who will take your concerns seriously. The kids feel comfortable with her. She smiles and jokes and speaks directly to them. I like that she listens to me and doesn't push 'protocol' that I don't agree with.
The only problem is that for sick visits they have walk-in hours and you don't always get to see who you want. They have a nurse practicioner that see's most walk-ins.
Good luck.

Hi - We have the BEST Pediatrician - and he moved to Bloomfield Hills this summer - he's personable, very easy to talk with and absolutly loves the children he works with. My daughter is fearful of shots / pain / and she LOVES him. She talks about him and whenever we have an appt and I inform her she gets excited! I have also found him very supportvie to me as a mother - he answers all my questions / never rushes me or response like I am asking dumb questions. Please note I don't recommend anyone unless they are outstanding and I highly recommend him.... It's Dr. Steve Kallabat MD FAAP, Internal Medicine and Peds of Bloomfield, Fellow of American Academy of Peds. Address; 1109 W. Long Lake Rd. Suite 101, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48302. Phone - ###-###-####. We travel now from Ferndale to see him (he use to be located here) and I would travel even further if I needed. Please feel free to share my name as a reference. Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers! A. Littleton
