Hi Moms,

Does anyone take the Seasonique birth control pill? I heard you only get your period three times a year. Could that be good/healthy to only get your period three times a year? Since you only get your period three times a year, are your cycles heavy? Please give me your opinions. Anything you can tell me would be great. Thank you!

What can I do next?

Michelle,

I heard not so good stuff about the seansonquie. Its been all over the tv same with the yaz and yazmin... I talked to my doctor and got the 5 year IUD mirena and i love it. It goes in vaginally by your ob, mild cramping right after its put in but love it you can have it removed when ever you want. Its 99.8% effective... You get light periods and I had no cramping once I got my period after I had it put in... I know alot of people who have the Mirena and love it. Just talk to your doctor and be completely honest about what you want and what you would like and see whats best for you. Good luck...

I have used this bc pill for several years now and love it ! I actually have gone over a year without a period. I talked to my doctor and go in every year for my check ups. She said there's no problem with not having periods as long as I'm getting my check ups every year. I would highly recommend it.

I take them and love them. I used to take my regular pills the same way (I'd take 3 packs continuously then take a week off to have a period) before I had kids. I do it for several reasons...I have severe pms and hormonal migraines, and eliminating periods is great for me. Not to mention the fact that it's pretty convenient. I have a normal period in seasonique with very little pms (very mild cramping, bloating, etc....completely minimal compared to what I experience when not on birth control). There is actually a small dose of hormones in the last week of pills which contributes to this. Everyone is different, but for me they've been great.

I highly recommend it! My periods are normal and it is so nice not to have to deal with a period every month. I talked to my doctor in length about it and she assured me it was healthy.

My husband and I have used natural family planning (creightonmodel.com) for almost 7 years and we love it. I highly recommend it.

According to my gynecologist, she said the only reason you need to have a period is if you want to get pregnant. Since I don't want children at this point in my life, I take my pills continuously with only a break every 3rd month. Since my doctor is also doing this, I feel very comfortable in not having a period. No worry unless you want kids! :)
