Seasonal Allergies - New Richmond,WI

I am not a huge advocate of medications either and try other options first. I had dealt with seasonal allergies for over 10 years and continued to get worse as time went by. 4 years ago I started using a nutritional supplement that has a ton more benefits beyond getting control of the allergies. It is a long term solution more than a quick fix for me, took 3 months to get them under control but since it has been wonderful. Not sure if that helps you at all but I love letting others know that there are options out there :)

I have given my children zyrtec and take it myself. Having had allergies my whole life I can tell you they can be debilitating. I would go straight to the zyrtec, see how he reacts. I have taken all types of allergy medicine and this one has little to no side effects and works fairly well even in this terrible ragweed season..ugghh. I saw the response on honey and I am in agreement of locally grown honey as well. That take time to build up though.

I don't know how well this would work in your area, but it really works for us. We find some honey that is made in our area....in order for this to work it HAS to be made by the local bees. Then we just feed the kids honey on whatever they want. The bees make their honey out of the pollen from the things that you are reacting too and when you eat it, it helps build your immunity to it. I have found for me personally that I have to take about 1 tbsp 2-3 times a day for about a week and then I can taper off to about once every 2 days for the duration of my allergy season. So good luck in your search for the relief for your little guy.

We use the childrens clariten. My son had an awful reaction to zyrtec (was bouncing off the walls and could not sit still). I have not tried Little Allergies though.

I use it on my toddler and noticed a marginal improvement. I also flush her sinuses with pure saline a couple of times a day when she is having a flare up. She can't take allergy medications without experiencing every side effect in and out of the book, so we deal with them using saline, allergen block, and Mucinex.
