I have used Jergens for years now and love it because it comes in three shades light/medium/dark. I start with light then when that bottle is gone I get the medium and when I am in the sun a little more due to the weather I go to the dark and it looks very natural as long as you remeber to use a scrub a couple of times a week in the shower around your knees and elbows (think this is the case with most self tanning lotions, but it definatly isn't orange even on really fair skin). Jergens also makes one for your face...

I wouldn't use anything. Your skin is the largest organ of respiration, it's capabilities for absorption are vast. When injured soldiers were incapable of eating they found that they could adsorb nutrients through their skin. If you rub an onion on the heal of your foot you can smell it on your skin and taste it 1/2 hour later.

Not just that; there are seriously nasty ingredients in sunless tanning products. You definitely want to avoid anything with parabens (a preservative that they all use). Parabens have been found to be endocrine disruptors. Meaning they mimic or impede the bodies natural hormones. This is very dangerous for a babies immature endocrine system.

I didn't realize sunless tanning lotions were harmful(?) I use(d) L'real Sublime Glow. I love it. I am currently 30 wks. preg. and using it. I used it throughout my other pregnancy as well. I also used it while breast-feeding. And no it isn't vain to want a little color instead of sitting outside on your butt all day gorging yourself with harmful UV rays. I am a sun lover too, but try to indulge infrequently.

Good morning C.,

I will be happy to send you a sunless tanning sample that is safe from the Company Melaleuca; just send me the information where you want to receive it. by the way, you are not being vain: it matters to relax while breast feeding!! (make sure you drink 8 ounces of liquid with each breast feeding session, to prevent dehydration.
