Hi. For online support there are couple of web pages that I know about. You can do a search of others with your same condition. Then, you can write to them and gain support through others going through it. You can also sign up, for free, to have a page of your own. In this way all your friends and family can go to a centralized spot to keep up on your progress as you face this challenge. As you share you also receive messages of support from others. Everyone signs up for free to keep in touch with each other. The websites themselves can explain what this is all about.

Another thought, the hospital that will treat you can probably direct you to a local support group. I wish you well with this cancer you are facing.

Hi E.,
My cousin was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma 6 years ago. After 2 years of chemo and radiation (hers was pretty advanced to begin with) she is now cancer free, per the scans from the last 3 years. She was treated at Columbia University hospital in New York City. There is also a doctor in Texas whose child died from this cancer about 15 years ago. He has dedicated his career to finding treatments for this cancer and, as a result, the survival rates have increased dramatically over the last decade. I can't remember his name, but a quick internet search should find him. You may want to get a second, third, etc. opinion from a university based hospital, like Duke, as they are usually in the forefront of medical advances and diagnoses. Good luck!

I have not been through that, but have had a sister diagnosed with cancer when we were little. It was a very stressful and heart felt time for us all. I will be praying for you.

Sincerely,

where were you diagnosed? Did you go to an institute known for cancer treatment. This can be misdiagnosed from what the internet says. Please make sure you are seeing the best in your area. St Jude's seems to have the best knowledge. Also, contact the Mayo clinic.
