I have a 15 month old little girl who has all of a sudden become a very restless sleep (ie. moving/kicking her legs). The majority of the time it is just during her nighttime sleep but today I've noticed it during her nap. I know with the temp. change outside that I'm going to have to play around the the a/c to find the right temp for her to sleep at so I was wondering what you guys keep your house's a/c set to in the summer and what type of pjs you use.

What can I do next?

My son gets leg aches a lot, especially with the change of weather and using an a/c. We keep him in long pants every night. We choose lightweight cotton pants and a short sleeved cotton shirt. When he wakes crying with leg aches, we give him Tylenol and use a warm blanket and or heating pad until the aches subside then put him to bed with just a blanket over his pants. We never leave the heating pad on in the bed. Rubbing the legs until they feel better also helps as this generates heat.

Good luck because this can cause some long nights.

totally normal for this age! i believe it is nothing to do with temp...and all to do with her developmental spurt. celebrate that growing body and brain!

Our house stays at 72 year round. During the hotter months my son sleeps in a T-shirt and diaper. Colder months he actually wears PJ's...

We have a small fan that we use during the summer to help with air flow. It doesnt point at him we point it at the wall left of his bed that way he kind of gets the reflection from it. Plus it helps with white noise.

During the winter we use a humidifier, my son has bad sinus problems and the heat dries them out...

Hope this helps!

After reading the other responses you've received its pretty clear it depends on your baby. My 13 month old sleeps in long sleeved top and pants pjs with a slightly thicker cotton blanket draped over her. She recently outgrew her blanket that zipped up on her. We keep the thermostat at 72 year round but for some reason it seems her room gets cooler than the other rooms in the house. I would just experiment with different temps and pjs and see which way she sleeps the best.

Nighttime thermostat is on about 72-73. I put my son in summer jammies, a light snug short sleeved top and pants.

Actually it may not have anything to do with the AC. around 15-18 months babies start to dream. Sometimes they also start waking at night again like they are new borns cause they dont understand the dreaming and it wakes them up. When my daughter went through this it was also summer (born in march 2005) and I asked the dr and thats what I was told.

I have an 18 month old boy with the same problem. He rolls and moves all night. We keep our house at a constant 72 with the air on. He has always slept in a sleep sack. They are basically a blanket with a neck and arm holes. They are recommended by the American Pediatrics Society to prevent SIDS. It is not recommended that you put a blanket on a baby to sleep. We put him in a thin cotton onesie and then put on the cotton sleep sack. They also make them in fleece for winter. They sell them at Babies R Us.

Hey K.! We have a 4 month old at home and we keep the temperature at a steady 69-70 degrees all the time. We put him to sleep in a longsleeve cotton sleep-n-play and wrap him with a swaddle blanket from the waist down. We also keep the ceiling fan going when he sleeps to keep the air circulating. Sometimes he wakes up and his hands are freezing, but it never keeps him awake. I hope this helps. -M

I like to sleep where it is pretty cool. I like to double diaper, dress in cotton pJ and use the blanket sleeper. With this there is usually no need for a blanket. A fan in the room really helps too, with the outside noise and the temp. I have a fan over my bed all year.
