Hello All! We are taking our 4 yr dd to the matinee of the Nutcracker at the Phoenix Symphony in downtown Phx. Does any one have a restaurant that is child friendly that could recommend - that is not too expensive. Thanks to all in advance!

Check out www.yelp.com -- people like you and me write reviews for restaurants. I always check those reviews out when visiting a new city and have stumbled on some gems. Or at least asked a local about a place which led me to a new place.

Yes- try MacAlpine's on 7th St north of McDowell. They have and old fashioned soda fountain with 99 flavors of soda. It has been there since the 1940's, is family owned, and has tasty food! The food is basic- sandwiches, burgers, etc, easy to find something a 4 year old will eat. They also have a vintage/antique store attached to the restaurant, and you could get her a small, inexpensive piece of sparkly jewelry as a souvenir of the night. Can you read my girl-envy in this post...heeehee... (I have 2 boys).

Oh thats so sweet. What a great mommy. I hope you make a tradition of it and go every yr. We did that with my oldest and made many great memories.

Check out The Old Spaghetti Factory. I believe it is a little north of downtown, but you can google it to be sure.

How fun! We did something similar last year! We took our then 4 year old daughter to see "The Grinch" at Gammage. Before the show, we took her to Rainforest Cafe at AZ Mills mall. We went there because it's not far from home and we have a club card and it happens to be her favorite place to eat! It was pretty funny to us to be so dressed up at the mall, but she enjoyed every second of the evening. Afterwards, we stopped at baskin Robbins for a scoop of ice cream. :) silly, fun and totally memorable!

Have a great time!
