Need Help Finding a Good Kid Friendly Restaurant in NYC.

Hello one of my best friends from college is in town visiting from Dallas and we want to go out for a nice kid friendly place in the city. Their hotel is downtown in the financial district, but we are not limited to staying in that area. We have a family of 3 with a 3.5 yo boy and they are a family of 4 with a 2.5 yo boy and a 9 mo old girl. Please provide your recommendations of places that can accomodate a party of 7 and why you like the place.

There is Carmine's on 44th between Bway and 8th, Virgil's BBQ on 44th between 6th and Bway, Friend of a Farmer on Irving Place between 18th and 19th Streets. I've been to all of them and they're all good.

How about BBQ. Yes, I know, not very fancy, but at least some of them accomodate large groups and the food is kid friendly. They (it's a chain) are kind of noisy so you won't have to worry about keeping the kids still and quiet.

L.,
Hey, I used to live in Dallas --- There are always a ton of kids at Artie's New York Delicatessen at Broadway and 83rd Street. It is right around the corner from the Children's Museum of Manhattan and is the #1 place recommended by them. It's a large restaurant, so will accomodate a party of 7. They have great food (try the knish puppy!), a kid's menu, and it shouldn't break the bank. If you have time to check out the museum while your there, it's perfect fun for the ages of kids you're bringing!
Have a great time!

Hi. One of my favorite places is Gigino (downtown). There is anohter in Tribeca but go to the one further downtown on Battery place. Make reservations and eat outside. There is a small grassy area right in front of where you sit so you can bring a ball, jump rope or what ever and you are close enough so you can watch them play. There is a great view of statue of liberty. When you finish dinner you can walk along the water. So pretty.

Look into Bubby's and Landmarc, they are both downtown and are known as very kid friendly.

Siagon Grill 90th and Amsterdam. Very kid friendly. I have an almost 3 year old and we have been going there with him since before birth. We also go with other famalies and they are very accomodating.

Hi L.,

I like landmarc and went to it because it is recommended as kid friendly. Oddly enough, I have always had to ask for the kids menu. The food is great, however not inexpensive. check out their website. I have also been to the one at Columbus Circle, but it is too big and unfriendly.

We also like a small irish pub in the 20's called The crooked Knife. Causal, comfy.

The New Zealand Cafe near the seaport (corner of Peck's Slip and Front St) is my daughters favorite (twin 4 yr olds) They like one table that is bar height and oval shaped.

Good luck and enjoy
