Red Crayola Melted in the Dryer on an Entire Load of Laundry

If you haven't already thrown out the other items or if you would like something that will be far less work next time. I use SA8 stain treatment along with their soap and tri-enzemes and it gets EVERYTHING out. When my son was born he had jaundice and had to have high calorie formula which stains a terrible brown color. I put this stuff on it and it came out the first wash. My friend spilt red wine on a skirt and was going to throw it out and I washed it with this took it right out. It also took out crayola marker.

Dry cleaning chemicals remove wax. Good luck!

Freeze whatever pieces you decide to keep. This will harden the crayon making it easier to scrape. Afterwards you put some paper towels on the ironing board and iron over the wax left and wash with your regular detergent. They should be good as new.

Oh, honey, this will teach you/remind you to check pockets before putting items in the washer and dryer. I cannot tell you how many itmes were ruined from crayons, toys, candies (and kleenes is the worst!) still in the pockets that went through the cycles. I vote toss away...and that goes for bed linens that get thrown up on, too....

what you can't scrape off, try freezing the clothes little by little, (if it was a big load and you have a small freezer), and the frozen wax will flake off much easier and then you can treat the stained areas and try rewashing them. It's worth a try.
I know I am trying to get mildew and mold off some clothes that were left wet in a plastic bag and if you have any ideas of how to treat those I would appreciate it.

Oh, and I just read the other responses. The iron trick may work better! :)

FREEZE THE CLOTHES TO HARDEN THE CRAYON THEN SCRAPE
GET A PIECE OF LINEN CLOTH AND PUT ON STAIN IRON ON HOT TO GET LINEN TO ABSORB THE WAX sTART A NEW MOD LOOK.

You place paper towels over and under the crayon spots and then iron it. The hot iron will make the crayon absorb into the paper towel. You just repeat it until it is all out. Not fun, but it works. I would only throw away the items that you are not fond of.

I haven't checked other responses, but have you tried using the old iron and paper bag trick? I've used that for getting candle wax off carpet and I'm pretty sure it'll work for the clothes; however, you may still have the red dye left over from the crayon.

Set your iron on high, put the paper bag on top of the clothing, and then iron on top of the paper bag. The heat melts the wax and the paper bag wicks it away from the clothing. You may try just a spot to see how much of the red is left, but if it works it's much easier than scraping. Good luck!
