Recommendations for Good Day Cares in North Dallas Area

I live in the Allen area and I work in downtown Dallas. I am pregnant and plan to go back to work when my maternity leave is done. I can only imagine how hard it will be to go back to work after my baby is born but I love my job and the money helps too :). So I am looking for a great place or a great person to keep my baby while I am at work...obviously like any other mom I want someone I can trust...and someone who will take exceptional care of my child. My husband works in Richardson off of 75 and like I say I work in downtown off of 75...I am thinking that somewhere in between our works - so btwn Richardson and Dallas would be great...that we are closer to the baby when we are work. My drive home to Allen everyday is at 35-45 min one way and that is too long for me...if there was an emergency or in general to wait to get my sweet baby after work. I am not sure about home care or day care...again...any suggestions/recommendations are welcome...this is my first baby and I am relatively new to the Dallas area. I am not worried about money...so please send suggestions on the best out there! Thanks!

I've heard the daycare located at Medical City is good. The White Rock North school might work for you too--it is in Lake Highlands. Christ Lutheran has a daycare on Lovers just off 75. All those mentioned have good reputations. Oh, and I think First Methodist of Richardson has a daycare also.

I don't have a recommendation for you, but I've read other posts that recommend having your daycare closer to work than home - more time to spend with baby during the drive, easier to get to daycare FAST if baby is sick, etc. You may want to check with other moms at your office to see if they would recommend a place as well. Good luck!

We LOVE New Century Montessori Academy. It's off 190 and Campbell, so it would be a little out of your way, but would be close to your husband's work. The infant teacher is amazing, and I can't wait to have another baby to put in her class! My 3 year old loves the school, the teachers, the director. Feel free to ask me any questions you might have about the school.

My daughter went to Spring Creek Private School in Dallas (Coit and Beltline) for 10 years. They have a graduated curriculum, is affordable and very trustworthy! The Director/Owner is a retired educator. I cant say enough about that place!

I agree. Check the dept of family protective services website. Don't let it overwhelm you. Be sure to read all the comments on the violations. You will need to register the baby early. Some places have a 6-8 week waiting list. http://www.dfps.state.tx.us/

Congratulations on the new addition!

I don't have a particular place to suggest but I will tell you that before you pick any you should check the dept of family services website to see there inspection reports from the state. You can search by location or by name. This should give you a good idea about where you are leaving you child.
Good luck

Hi N.. Not sure where you are located in Allen. But I use a home daycare in Lost Creek Ranch - near Exchange/Hwy 5 (close to Villages at Allen). I've had my son there for almost three years and my new baby girl has been there for the last two months. I think they offer great care. It is a husband and wife team, they are registered with the state. I've never had a problem. I think they currently have only 2 spots open - max 12 kids allowed. So, you'd want to contact them soon. I don't want to post their info without their permission, but feel free to shoot me a quick email me and I will give you their name/phone #. My email is ____@____.com you don't want a home daycare, I've heard great things about Primrose and Goddard. I believe there are two Primrose schools in Allen. I've also checked out Kids R Kids on Bethany and was very impressed by the cleanliness. For me, I preferred a home daycare. My son doesn't get sick nearly as often as my friends children, who attend a larger daycare center.

Good luck with your search!
