Recommendation on Toddler + Car Seat/booster

My son is 4 (34lbs) and is on the tall/thin end of the scale. He is ready to move into a bigger car seat/booster and would love some advice. Here are the two I'm currently looking at but am open to other suggestions. Britax Frontier combo-booster and Recaro Young Sport Car seat.

I like these two because I'm still interested in keeping him in a 5pt harness for as long as possible, I like the side-impact safety features as he will be moving to a side window seat when our second baby comes who will be taking up the center seat.

Thanks in advance!

Britax! I can't say enough about them. I have two Regents and the kids and I love them. My son is almost 7 and my daughter is 4. My son will be in it for at least the next couple of years. He likes it better than a regular car seat.
Britax are easy to install.

The Regent is a beast but a small adult can sit in it easily. It really all boils down to which one is the best fit in your can. I would find a way to try both seats in your car.

My nearly 7 year old and my 4 year old both ride in the Britax Regent. 5 pt harness to 80lbs. Love this seat and so do they.

Now, I think Britax also makes a booster that you can keep him in 5pt harness for a bit then at 80 or so lbs, use with the shoulder belt. I think anyway! If I had to do it over again, I'd look for something like that.

Congrats on your pregnancy!

I used this website to make my decision when I needed carseats for my little ones. It was so helpful! If you watch the video, be prepared for the tears. It's really a wonderful thing this family is doing, in spite of their loss.
