YES it does matter! I had one house with a realtor who did nothing and offered no advice- I did that for 1 year. Then I listed with another and she aggressivly advertised and the house sold in 2 months (this was 5 years ago, the market was good enough it should have sold).

We just recently used Pam Smith (Duncanville, TX) with Ebby Halliday. She did a good job of advertising and providing feedback to us. She was also very good at healping us find our new home.

Do not know where you live but we used karen Whethington with keller williams in Burleson to buy our house and she was wonderful. Even though she is in Burleson everything we looked at was in Ft Worth and she willingly made the trip. She works in Ft worth a lot. I was very pleased and would definately use her to sell a house. This is the sixth house we have owned and the who you list your house with makes a huge difference. good luck.

It does matter who you sell your house with. The major reason is foot traffic. Listing with a good Realtor gets you on their website as well as MLS listing sites. Also a good Realtor will be the person who shows your house during open house days, makes sure signage is easy to see, will walk you through your home and give you pointers on what will help your home sell, and will be on your side when closing comes. I would choose someone who has sold in your area that is with one of the major companies. Another good way to find a Realtor is to look at the MLS in your area and ask those who have houses for sale that you like how the house is marketed. Wording and pictures say alot about your home. Make sure it is perfect for pictures because often people decide purely from them which houses to see. And yes, it does matter who you list with. This is the person who will promote the sale of your home, make suggestions on how your home might sell better, and who you will have to deal with for the duration of your agreement and/or sale of your home. You want it to be someone you trust, can talk with easily and have confidence in.
