Question for OB. Bad Odor During Pregnancy. Help!

This is a personal question, but I thought I might get some insight before I see the OB next. If I have more information on what's going on, I can make a call to get in earlier. Is this serious or normal?
My urine smells bad, at 4 months pregnant. I urinate frequently. There is no burning.
As for my bottom, it has a very bad smell. It also gets very moist easily, and it's a bit painful (mildly so). There seem to be a few small bumps in it where the mild pain is. Hemorroids? I don't know what this is, as it's never happened before.

I feel like I need to shower two times a day.

What can I do next?

It sounds like it bothers you enough to get a professional opinion/help for it. I'd get in and have it addressed, who's got time to shower twice a day. :)

Im 31 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child. I have never had any of the symptoms you have describe. Please call your OB asap. Reading what others think you may have will only cause panic. You do not need any additional stress while being pregnant.

Discharge is very common in pregnant women and cause irritation and discomfort. It can also be very smelly. Also, urine can be very smelly during pregnancy too. Unscented baby powder is great for both. Also wear a light pad, like a Unscented Light Days, and you'll fell a lot cleaner. Don't hesitate to talk to your OB. They've seen this sort of things many times.

I noticed a very strong oder at one point during a pregnancy and mentioned it to my OB. She said I had a yeast infection. I didn't even realize it, because I had no discomfort.

Call your OB. I'm with La Trina on this one. It's always best to call and ask. That's what they're there for.

Keep in mind too.. You might have a "Super Smeller" during your pregnancy. Certain smells were SO strong to me during pregnancy. Hormones play with you in a lot of ways. So while you probably do have extra discharge (very normal) you're also probably way more sensitive to the smells right now. Unfortunately, also normal.

The urine could be different from your prenatals too.. or again, just hormones.

If your discharge isn't green/yellow you should be in good shape. The mucous should be fairly clear or translucent and can be a little yellow.. but when it looks greenish you could have some kind of infection. (just like mucous in your nose - clear is no infection, green is infection)

Definitely talk to your doctor - always better to be safe then sorry.

Good luck

I had some discharge and some may be normal but i would for sure address this and any other concerns with your Doctor. You may want to ask something like this on here but no one can give you the answers you need except your Dr. Some of the answers may give a false sense of safe and others may scare you unnecessarily. Good luck and congratulations.

You might need to drink more water. As for your bottom...ask your OB about it. LOTS of things change when you are pregnant. Different hormones can cause different odors. Plus your smelling sense could be "on alert" during pregnancy. I would be careful about the baby powder advice...make sure there is no talc in it.

Please address this with your doctor, J.. Probably nothing serious but I wouldn't avoid the subject. Have your urine tested to be sure you don't have a UTI while you're at it. Pregnancy causes weird things sometimes but some of them are symptoms that need to be addressed. Look into it with the doc!
