What potty chair or seat is best for a boy? My son is 21 months old and showing interest now.
i have the fisher price musical potty chair and it seems that the spash guard is in the way especially when he goes to stand up.

What can I do next?

We have the Baby Bjorn toilet trainer. It is a seat that goes on the regular toilet. That is just my personal preference, but even if you like a chair better, the Baby Bjorn chair is very good too and gets great ratings. I would look at those.

As a mom of three and a daycare provider, I thought I would weigh in on this one. I have found that the splash guards don't work well the the child. They do get in the way. If the little guy is sitting, I ask him to tuck "it" down and put his knees together. At first you may need to show him. When he is ready to stand and pee, I put a cheerio in and give him something to aim at. 21 mo. is pretty young for this, but if he is interested go with it. I would suggest if he loses interest not to pressure too much. Good luck, G.

The Froggy Potty is the BEST for boys. I've tried them all. We have a bjorn, and it is fine, if he's perfectly positioned. The Froggy has such a high front, and it isn't an attachment or a cup that can pinch or get in the way. I actually bought two of them so we have them on both levels.

I just wrote about a potty in another post...
"We have that froggy potty, and it is great! Perfect design, very simple [similar to the Bjorn potty], cute, cheap [I got it for $13 at Walmart] and my son has never peed out of it because of the big part that comes up in front."

I used the Bjorn for my girls-it was ranked highest for boys. I liked how simple it was.

The froggy potty chair. It doesn't actually have a splash guard. It goes up in the front where the froggy's eyes are. It is super easy to clean. My son loves it because it's so cute which entices him to go in it. AND it's only like $12 or $13!! You can't beat that! Since it IS so cheap we have one at my house, at his dad's house, at both sets of grandparents house. Even if it doesn't work for you, you're not out much money. I'll bet it will though if you get it for your little guy. Good luck to you in whatever potty you get!

Check out the "Peter Potty" - you can google it and find one. We got one for our son and it was wonderful. Good luck!
