Potty Chairs

Can anyone recommend a good potty chair for my 2-1/2 year old son? I bought a chair but found out that the splashguard is too small. It seems like most of the chairs are designed for girls, not boys.

Thanks!

What can I do next?

I have the Bjorn potty seat. It has a huge splash guard and it is completely seamless. The only down side is that it's pricey.

This is such a common problem you'd think there would be more on the market. We got my 2 year old the baby bjorn potty chair. They make a few different kinds, but we got the one while the separate bowl you can empty. They all have built in splash guards which is very important at our house since my son likes to remove the removable ones. They have a variety of colors, I think they have them at babies r us, otherwise we ordered ours at Target online.

In all honesty, I'm not sure potty chairs are really a great design to begin with. I have 2 girls and with both of them, when they pee, only a little goes in the potty, but mostly on the front of the potty. I'm not real sure how, but one day my oldest somehow just started getting it to go in right. Still working on the second one. I know I wasn't much help, but I just wanted you to know, it's not just boys!

I had the same problem. I ended up having to buy two potty chairs for my son. The store would not take it back because it was open, and for health reasons they said they could not take it back. I was mad, but could understand their point. But you should look for the chairs that say detachable guard. Those are the only ones with a guard tall enough. I bought mine from Super Kmart. But you should be able to find it at other stores. I would suggest to you that you do a search for them at different stores to see who has it. That way you are not driving all around town trying to find one. I hope this helps you out. Take care!

Ok, so I just did some research and Toys R Us has one. Kmart does not, neither does Target. The name of it is, Graco Training Rewards Soft Seat Potty & Stepstool for $19.99.

I have a 28 month old boy and I got the potty chair and then got the soft seat from wal-mart...just the cheap white one. It seems to work fine. He never liked the floor potty but uses the soft seat potty. Nothing comes unattached. Also, if he will. You can turn boys around to face the wall while sitting on the potty. Then they will have a lager opening to make it in and that would be done without the soft seat. There little bottoms fit fine they won't fall in and it forces them to lean forward to kinda brace thier self so its a straight shot. My son does not like that way. So he does good with the soft seat. Hope this helps.

Hi there,

My son is also two, and unfortunately, I have not found a single potty chair that has a large-enough splashguard!! I'm hoping somebody else will respond and say they have found one that is large enough..until then, I have taught my son to "hold down his pee-pee" so that it points down, into the potty. Thankfully, he knows to do that each and every time; otherwise, I'd be bummin'!
