Plasma TV Cleaner?

Hi Mamas! Looking for suggestions on what to clean our plasma TV screen with (fingerprints all over it from the little ones)? I heard that you should not use Windex or paper towels on the screen. Appreciate your help...thanks!

I use monitor wipes that i got at Best Buy to clean all of my LCD monitors and televisions. They're about 8.99, but well worth the investment

Well I have been using windex and paper towels on my plasma tv for a few years with no problems. I just don't let the windex drip down into the bottom... it's better to spray the paper towels then wipe instead of spraying the tv directly. And I have been doing this like every day (little ones leave a lot of finger prints) and our tv is fine

We bought the stuff to clean the screen at the store where we purchased our tv. It included a microfiber cloth. I asked the salesman if we could use a dampened microfiber cloth. He said it wouldn't hurt it. But to make sure the cloth was super squeezed out. He said than any water running down would hurt it. I just dampen the cloth and squeeze out as much as I can. It feels almost dry. Then, I wipe it down.

We have this stuff by phillips (not sure where hubby got it) screen cleaning gel for plasma and LCD TV's. He probably got it where we bought the TV or go online and search. I just took a soft towel or if you have a cloth that cleans eyeglasses just use it, no cleaning products needed. Just wipes them right off.

My husband sells TVs and home theatre equipment for a living and you should have received a special cloth when you bought your tv and that's what you should use to clean it. Do not spray anything on it or use paper towels or regular cleaning cloths. The special cloth is sort of like the cloths you get to clean glasses with.

Just a plan damp cloth will get the job done.

Glad to see that being a SAHM is working for you. I'm 39 and I have 3 children. I tried that 3 times and I bored easy, felt like the walls were closing in on me. Guess I wasn't cut out for it. My children are all grown now. I have an 18 year old son who just enlisted in the airforce, a 16 year old about to graduate early from high school, and then there's my baby girl, she's 12. Unfortunately the dedicated husband hasn't been one of my strong points. Been with my husband 17 years and I've been a single parent, if you know what I mean. You have a good man, hang on tight and don't let gone, they're hard to come by.

I GET THIS Electronic Cleaning Wips that are for tv or other electronics they are at wal mart down the same placw you get stuff for your computer. It is called nice n clean.

Hello M.,

All advice so far is great. However, no one mentioned that you should not use any liquids while the tv is on. Turn off the set before you clean it. I used to work for a cleaning company, and we always made aure the sets were off before cleaning them. Due to the electricity and static, it is a potential hazzard. Also leaving the set on can mess with the color of the set. ls

Wal-Mart sells plasma/LCD cleaner that comes with the special cloth for $9.98. You can find it in the electronics department. The instructions for use are VERY easy. It has worked great on our LCD screen. It got all of our little prints off and left the screen looking new.
Hope this helps!
