Pink Eye Symptoms

Has anyone's babies every had pink eye and if so what were their symptoms? Not sure if my 11 month old has pink eye, an eye irritation or what but for a couple of days her right eye has been watering all day and night - no redness or goop in her eye have appeared yet but I am not sure what else could be causing her eye to water. Any advice would be great.

What can I do next?

Thanks ladies for your advice, I really appreciate it. Ava didn't have pink eye it was actually a start of a bad cold - the croup!

My twins are actually in the process right now of using the medicine to treat pink eye. They went to the Dr. Wed nite as my son's eyes were glossy and his left was real red, but not any goop. My daughter looked more like she had a cold, not red, but crusty. Both are being treated for pink eye, but my son's is worse. Good Luck.

as a nurse our office will only prescribe pink eye meds without seeing them- basically the whites of the eyes is red. this should not be consistent with other symptoms. Often if a child has a bad cold they may be ozzing out of eyes nose etc... and have an ear infection. so if thats the case see your dr. if not then call your ped and give them the signs and symptoms and they may call in meds for you. Its not harmful either way.

It took a few days for my son's spaggetti looking goop to come out... i'd bring to dr cuz if it is pink eye likely have ear infections too

In my experience with pink eye there is usually the crusty eyes in the morning and goop throughout the day with definite redness. Could she have an eyelash or something in her eye? Does she seem to be in pain? I would call the doctor just to see what they think. Maybe you can check with your pharmacist to see what they think. I believe there is an over the counter medication for pink eye now. Good Luck!
