Physical Therapist for Baby in North/Northwest Suburbs

Hi! My 4 month old was just diagnosed with a mild case of Torticollis. We are looking for an excellent physical therapist in the northern or northwest suburbs. Any recommendations? Has anyone used Children's Memorial at Glenbrook, RIC in Northbrook, Pathways in Glenview, The Pediatric Place in Libertyville, North Shore Pediatric Therapy in Highland Park, or ENH? Or, is there somewhere else you would recommend? Also, does anyone have experience with Early Intervention? I cannot get anyone there to return my phone call. Thank you so much for any imput you might have!

What can I do next?

Both my kids go to Pathways in Glenview and their PTs are excellent. One of my children is in PT and the other is in OT. I have not worked with EI but I have seen other posts on here that say "keep trying!"

As a disclaimer, I also do some consulting work with Pathways Center and their sister organization, Pathways Foundation, but have been more than impressed with them -- decided to take my own kids there even though it's not that convenient. There are many kids with torticollis these days, and it's great that you're seeking services so early. Good luck!

We have PT, OT and speech through EI and they are WONDERFUL. I will be so sad in August when my son turns 3 and had to transition into the school based program. My son goes to a group with two children who have Torticollis and they both are thru the EI program. If you want more information or someone to talk to directly at EI, just email me.

Arlington Pediatric Therapy in Arlington Heights is awesome! It's worth checking out.

EI is a little complicated, but I think it's a good program. And they are there to help.

Good luck!

My 2 1/2 year old son has had tort since he was born. We started therapy at CMH in Chicago with Cheryl D. at six weeks. We loved her! Chase was with Cheryl weekly until he was 6 months and 2xs a month until August of 2007. At that point, he qualified for speech through Early Intervention at home and we were able to pick up PT in the house (YAY). We currently have a great PT named Tricia. Both experiences have been positive (although the 10 month - 18 month range was not fun - Chase just didn't want to do any of the stretches, exercises - and you can't reason with a child that age).

The great news is through daily exercises, we're finally progressing! You can barely notice the tilt anymore!

Good luck!

Arlington Pediatric Therapy in Arlington Hts. 847/255-8690. They're great.

We go to Pathways in Glenview for speech therapy and couldn't be happier. The facility is super nice. I can only assume the PT services are great too.

Hi

I currently have my twin 8-month-olds going to PT at Children's in Glenview (for Torticolis & Plagiocephaly). They are fantastic. It can be hard to get on their schedule, but I highly recommend them.

My son had torticollis and saw physical therapists at Childrens Memorial in the city. We saw several different therapist there and I thought everyone was very good. I know that a lot of the therapist from Childrens Memorial in the city also see patients at Childrens in Glenbrook.
