Hello ladies, I'm not married have a new house and had my 1st Christmas in it last year...I wanted to share my finally finished home by sending a photo style Christmas card to family & friends of myself either in front of my tree or some sort of holiday backdrop. Is that lame since its just me? I'm wondering if I would LOL if I got this from someone, please be super honest and spare me lol Also thought of doing a collage type with pictures from our eventful 2010, sister got married, i turned 30, 1st newphew turned 1 year etc...Thanks!

What can I do next?

it would be cute to pick one of these 3-4 photo options in the cards and display the making of the house and you moving in and then you by the tree.
Like a step by step order of it all ??? Soo fun !

I think it's an awesome idea! Go for it! I send them of my daughter, of course because I want to show off her cute little face ;) If I had a new house (and no daughter), I'd send it to show off my cute new house! I would get a kick out of it if I got one from a friend! Merry Christmas!

I personally love photo cards and I think it would be cute. I like the collage idea. That's what I did for our card this year, kind of our "highlights" of the year. I say go for it, plain cards are kind of boring. Your friends and family should be happy to see what's new and exciting in your life.

Honestly, I don't like photo cards without a letter or personal note of some sort. I don't like cards with a family picture and then "Happy Holidays" on it or whatever. It just seems too impersonal or generic, like "here is a picture of me but I won't say anything to you about myself or ask how you are." If there are too many pictures in the collage, it is too hard to see each photo unless they are on a separate sheet of paper.

I don't think so, at all. My cousin sends us a photo card, of her and her dog every year. I am happy to receive the card and have a picture of her. Your family and friends will feel the same!

I think it's cute. Go for it. I mean if I got it in the mail I probably would laugh, but not necessarily in a bad way. People send out pictures of their kids cuz we're proud of them and want to show them off...it's no different than you. You're proud of yourself and your house and you should show it off! You could even do a funny saying on there like take a look at how my new baby is looking so good or something goofty like that.

you go girl! those christmas cards should not be reserved for "traditional" families or pics! i plan to have one of me, my little boy, and my girl rat terrier and i better NOT geta lol! lol! :)
i don't care about that b/c it's my life & i'm proud of it...plus, you'd only be sending it to people who already know/love you anyway & are very proud of you! so you go girl...especially on buying your own home! you're ahead of me and a LOT of women! :)
merry christmas! :)

I say do the photo card. The collage could be great because you could include photos of your house, you and your family events. You are just as important single and any one else's family and events. My cousin used to send me pictures of her dogs with Santa as a wallet size with her Christmas card. Not lame at all.

I think the photo of you would be fine...but I prefer collages. I would be more interested in seeing pics of the things you were involved in during the year:)

Why on EARTH would your family (regardless of how many parents are in it) and your successes be "lame"?

I wouldn't send other people's kids & successes, however.

Hmmmm...I don't think I would, to be honest. When I think of photo cards, I think more of families doing it. I absolutely wouldn't do a collage of things that happened to other people. I would let your parents do that, if they want, but in a newsletter format, not pictures.
