She might want to consider joining the Austism Society of Collin County or the MAFEA. Both have parents that could offer her a wealth of information. Many of the clients with whom I work have received wonderful references and ideas through those groups.

We did not have a good experience with Dr. Bain, and I would be happy to tell you more about it. I felt it was because our child was NOT on the spectrum.

Dr. Deborah Bain is who I hear is the one to turn to for children with autism. We go to her and LOVE her---we don't have those same issues, but she has changed our path medically to finding the core issues and hitting them hard---with nutrition and avoiding antibiotics when possible. She supports alternative vaccine schedules---and actually would NOT vaccinate my daughter due to her not 'being well' despite not running a fever or any other symptoms....I just can't say enough good about her. For the first time I feel I have a team on my side, educating me and trusting my parental judgment.....totally different experience than any other pedi in the past. We drive 30 minutes to her and gladly do so.

I second Dr. Bain. We don't go to her, but I've heard SO MANY good things about her, and I'm dying to take my son to her. I just have to convince my husband it's worth the 45 minute drive from Fort Worth.

I will definitely check out Dr Bain at Heathykids. My son is on the Autsim Spectrum and we just started going to her. She is AWESOME. I would definitely give her a try.
