Pediatrician in FW
I had to put my son on his father's insurance, Tricare, which means I've gotta find a new pediatrician. Any recommendations/suggestions for docs in FW would be greatly appreciated. It took me forever to find one I really liked on my insurance, so I am dreading going through this all over again. Thanks in advance for your help, ladies ;)

My family also has Tricare thru the Military and we use a family doctor in Lake Worth Dr. Parsley.
You can go to tricare.osd.mil or call Health Care Finder @ 1-800-242-6788 and give them you zip code and they will help you find one. Most of the doctors are good but once in awhile they will get one that is not child friendly.
Hope this helps

If you live near HEB, then I would highly recommend Dr. Alfredo Santesteban--he has been great with my son. His office staff is very kind and caring; they know my son and greet him enthusiastically at every visit, they answer my questions patiently and promptly, they always follow up so that I am not left to wonder if everything is all right, and finally they make same-day appointments with ease (even 20 minutes after I've called).
Dr. Santesteban also has an after-hours nursing service that has been a blessing to call for help during those middle of the night emergencies. Plus, he is affiliated with Cooks Childrens' which means that if my son has to go to a hospiatl, he'll be getting the best pediatric care. Santesteban's office is near Harris Methodist HEB. Good luck!

My husband is in the military. We see Dr. Marianne Levine. Only her not the others in the practice. She has found things other drs. have literly "blown off". (Like spinal surgery). Her front office is horrible and I have major issues with return phone calls but once you get to her she is a dream. She has even given me her home # and her cell.
Good Luck

My pediatrician is great! Her name is Dr. Morrow and she works at Fort Worth Pediatrics across the street for Harris Methodist Soutwest. I'm not sure if she is taking new patients or not but she is in the same office as three other doctors and they are all good. When my son was born the pediatrician on call that day was Dr. Halpenny and he is from Dr. Morrow's same office and he was great too. I don't think you can go wrong with anyone there. I just am not sure what insurance they take, but good luck!

Hello M.,
I don't have any great doctors to tell you about, I too am having a hard time fingding a good Pediatrician. The reason being is that we too have Tricare (military). What I did want to tell you is that do not go to Dr. Subraminian on Booth Calloway in North Richland Hills. Their bedside manor is really bad and they do not spend any time with you and it doesn't seem as if they really care what the issues are.
I hope this will at least help you with your search.

We love our office - it's a Cook's clinic, so the chances are really good that they will accept your insurance. It's Forest Park Pediatrics and their number is ###-###-####. I think there are 5 or 6 ped's now, all are great - just ask which one is taking new patients. There are male and female docs - I think you have to take whoever when you have a sick appointment, but they are really all so nice. Good luck.

M.,
We go to Cook's Children's Physician Network off of Lancaster in downtown Fort Worth. I don't know if they take Tricare, but they take a lot of insurance plans, so I would check. Our daughter goes to Dr. Ann Natterer, who is pretty laid back. She's also seen Dr. Richard Lamere, who is more assertive about how he likes you to do things. He has a nurse practitioner, which is very handy for minor illnesses, etc. We've been very happy with them.
I hope you find someone you love.

Have you inquired with current/recent past pediatrician if they take the new insurance?
If so and they said no, I would recommend the UNT of down
town Fort Worth. (On Montgomery). It is part of the Childrens
Medical (Cook) and Dr Gilfigen and his PA are really nice.
