There is a wonderful Child and Family coach named Brandi Davis. She does online & phone classes and one on one phone sessions. Her website is below.

Are there child development classes at a local university? You could ask your OB/Gyn or your pediatrician's office.

A few years ago, I attended 8 weeks of classes on Saturdays at Tuesday's Child with my daughter, who was then five years old. I found it helpful for both of us. Another resource is Love and Logic. L&L is based in Colorado, but they give seminars in the Chicago area from time to time. L&L has a great website, and materials such as books and videos for purchase.

Yes this situation must be very frustrating. What could be more important than learning to be a better parent?
In the past I offered a Less Stress Parenting class at a community center on the N/W side. It was funded by the state so it was free to parents. It was an opportunity for parents to share their concerns, network and learn simple stress management techniques. Considering that it was a free class I had a low turnout. I assumed parents needed childcare, were too tired or just not interested. I am considering offering it again at Wright College where I teach other stress reduction classes.
I also ran a free mother's support group at a local coffee shop til it closed. I had several moms through Metropolitan Family Services. They might be a resource for you.

There are some at Rush Copley in Aurora near Fox Valley mall. I believe there might be some at Mercy hospital too. The Oswegoland Park District also has super nanny classes for parents. Try calling a public school & asking the school social worker about any programs. The ones I mentioned at the hospitals are FREE. Hope this helps

There's a Christian parenting class being held at Park Community Church tonight from 6-9p which finishes up tomorrow morning from 8a-12. The speaker is Tim Kimmel, you can check him out at familymatters.net. The class is $34/person and I know there were a few childcare vouchers available but you'd probably have to call the church to see if there are any still available. If you try to register online at familymatters you'll get a message that says registration is closed but that is just pre-registration. You can show up at 6p tonight and register in person. Park (parkcommunitychurch.org) is located at 1001 N. Crosby and is part of the Willow Creek Association of churches if you're familiar with Willow Creek out in Barrington. This might be too last minute for you but if it works and you're open to biblical based parenting then it might be just the thing. My husband and I are both attending tonight as a refresher...raising three little ones can wear you down :-) Hope this helps...good luck!

Maybe you could try your local hospital-I know that Evanston Hospital used to have parenting classes. Check the Chicago Reader or the Pioneer Press, too.
