Parent Child Swim Class for Three Year Old

I have a three year old daughter and I would like her to take swim lessons. She has never been in a swimming pool before so I would like her to start with parent and child classes we could do together. However, I have not been able to find any classes for children over the age of three to do with their parents. If anyone has any suggestions where I can take her please let me know. We live in Chicago in the West Loop. Thank you.

We go to Harris Park on the southside. The ages vary for the parent/tot class with kids over 3 years even though it says it's for younger kids.

Hi...I'm not sure what other responses you may get, but we live on State/Grand in River North. Here is a lady whom teaches swimming on a Saturday morning at the City Front Apt Building at 400 N McClurg. 3year olds-5yrs are at 9am. We use it as a Daddy/son bonding time class, but most are Moms with their little ones. It is an introduction to the water and later they can take private lessons or classes. Classes are not large, anywhere from 4-8parent/tots - depends on sickness/absence. They go through exercises/songs etc. We are happy with the classes, and she is great with the kids. Infact now he is water confident, we will probably switch to private lessons.
5 lessons are $70 - depends on calender as to cost. I'm sure she will let you start mid way through. So far we have had 1 lesson in the session.
If you email her, she can email you her info etc. The class is 45mins - more than enough time. Very professional but still laid back.

Hope this helps, or is at least a start in your search.

The YMCA does a class called - seahorse that is for 2.5 to 5 year olds with a parent. It was great for my special needs kid - I could still go in the water with him

I have a friend who took her older son to a tot & parent class, all the other children were much younger. Our park district pool people suggested the same thing for us (Koz Park)

YMCA. it's excellent and has parent/tot swim classes to get them comfortable in the water.

Hi mom did you try the YMCA I do know they have swimming classes but don't know what age they start good luck
