Ok Ladies, I Need Reciepes for Fit Foods!

I have started going back to the gym, I actually got myself a personal trainer to show me what I need to do and push me to do it, to reach my goal. Of course I need to lose weight, who doesn't, but my goal is not losing weight, my goal is toning my body, putting everything back where it belongs. My husband and I bought each other motorcycle's for christmas this year, and I want to look hot on my bike! We've always wanted motorcycles, but never had the money to actually get them, and this year we were blessed, and bought them, took the safety course, and now we're riding together. My problem is, I'm fender fluff instead of hot on my bike, or so I think, and I want to look great.

Now that being said, after being diagnoses with malignant melanoma and having to go through chemo, my outlook on life it totally different. I no longer want to eat whatever I want, sit around and not be fit, and waist away and end up a diabetic. I want to set an example for my children, and t each them how to eat right, and that it's fun to be fit. I would like to be the mom their proud of, I want my husband to be proud to have me by his side (of course he says he's already proud of me), but most of all I want to be proud of myself.

If you healthy eating moms can send some reciepes my way of things you feed your families, food that your kids eat and like, I sure would appreciate it. This is not a New Years Resolution by the way, I don't make them, this is a lifestyle change.

Thank you so much mommies!
A.

Getting fancy isn't necessary. Use olive oil in your cooking. Don't fry. Make sure you balance proteins, carbs and fats. Watch portions. One chicken breast is enough, even for a man. Snack on fruit, vegies, but don't be too strict. You can cheat once in awhile. We love our
protein shakes for a snack. we use rice or soy milk and fruit to mix in with the protein. here is a link to the protein: http://www.shaklee.net/healinghappens/product/20665

I too am a cancer survivor and know just what you mean about living a healthy life. Try calorieking.com It is $75 for the year and it will let you log everything you eat and break it down for you. It also provides recipies with the break down and there are support blogs. Its been the best $75 I have ever spent. Its like having my own personal nutrionist without paying a huge price. Keep up the good work and good luck!

My favorite recipes come from Tosca Reno of the Eat Clean Diet. It involves work to shop and cook, but everything I've tried from her tastes great and is very filling!

Diet after diet after diet ... I've finally decided to make my own weight loss plan and that's by cutting out any and all processed foods (and that includes breads, pastas, and definitely junk food).

I am eating steel-cut oats for breakfast instead of cold cereal. I am eating real meats instead of deli cold cuts. I am upping my veggies and fruits, eating rice and potatoes, snacking on almonds during the day, and drinking lots of water. I am also giving up artificial sweeteners and anything that contains "sugar" (and all its forms) and "flour" in the ingredients.

I've been doing this for 3 days now and so far, feel great. I'm not a believer of cutting out carbs, just cutting out the junk ones. I am also a diet Coke addict and I think my biggest challenge will be giving that up for good (wish me luck -- LOL). And of course, watching portions is a must on any weight loss plan.

Good luck to you! And enjoy your motorcycles :o)

I started eating gluten and sugar free and have cut down alot on my dairy. I buy alot of my stuff in the organic section of Kroger, I don't do everything organic. I use soy milk, eat fruits for snacks or these gluten free ranch crackers that I have fallen absolutely in love with. It's not near as hard as I thought it would be it's a little bit more expensive but I think it's worth it.
