Nursing Bra Advice (Large Breasted)

Hello! I need to buy several nursing bras this next week. I was measured at the hospital (and bought 2 bras there)and I am now a 44G (had a c-section- so there for 4 days and my milk had come in). When I was a DD I had a hard time finding bras in stores, so now I seriously don't expect to find much- so I am going to look on-line. I am looking for a site that is safe, reasonably priced and reliable. Any suggestions of such a site (or a fav bra/manufacture of bras of this size).

Thanks as always!

Note- even the hospital store only had 2 bras my size- and I bought them both :).

What can I do next?

There is a store in Plymouth that carries unsual sizes. They are not cheap (between $40 and $60), but I love the bras I got there.
I had an unusual size too.
The store is

sunny j's
550 forest ave suite 4
plymouth, 48170

Well I can relate I am nursing as well. First off I am surprise that the hospital sold you bras. Since typically your milk has not come in by the time you leave and you may actually get BIGGER!!! sorry to point that out. I have had lots of luck with a nice bra store in Plymouth Sunny J's. Since a size G is not sold in typical stores they only go to DDD witch is also classified as an F. I think I am a like a G or H myself. You can also try online www.bosombuddies.com www.kellymom.com/
Best of luck to you. If Plymouth is not in your area, try giving them a call and see if they can recommend someone in your area.

Hi First congrats on your new baby boy. I had the same problem except it was 5 years ago. My breasts were the size of my daughters head. I had to becareful not to suffercate her. Anyway I went to Harps Bra store in Birmingham. I live in Sterling Heights so it was only about 20 mins away I tried Bra world and didn't have much luck. I was just too big. There is also a place in St. Clair Shores called Comfortably Yours. I am not sure how big they get for nursing bras but it is worth a call. I would call the hospitals and see if they have any suggestions. I suggest getting one nice good bra and then a few cheaper ones that you can find for under 20 dollars (The ones that come in a box) Good Luck I hope you find something to fit well.

Ditto about Bra World on 14 Mile and Dequindre. They have helpful staff and a large selection. I wear a size F and they had lots of bras for me to choose from! And expect to spend at least $30 per bra.

Hope this helps, and congrats on your new baby! :)

Check out BraWorld at 14 mile & Dequindre. I was a 40FF before my son was born, it was one of the only places I could buy bras, also expect about $35 + price. They are worth it.

Brand is Goddess they have with & without a wire.

I loved my Anita nursing bras. They make bras in your size (for a while I was a 40F and it worked well at that size). I got mine at Harps-they may not carry your size but I'm sure they can order it for you. Or go to breakoutbras.com - they have a great selection and after your first order you get 10% off future orders.

Congratulations first of all! I too am & have been in the same boat. I just had my 2nd baby in May and was wearing the 40G nursing bra I wore from my previous baby. Well, I was lucky to find SUNNY J's and would totally recommend going there. They put me in a fitting room measured me, brought bras in to try on and make sure they fit me correctly. Turns out the 2 bras that I bought were a 36H and 36 J!!! Totally different than what I was wearing.

They are also very reasonably priced and very good to work with. One of my bras hemming came undone, they said ship it to me and they will fix it and send it right back out.

Personally being the sizes that we are I would not order online. I had such a hard time with getting them in the specific size and still not fitting once I got them and ended up having to return them. What a pain!
Good luck!!

I went to Bra World in Troy. They are located in a plaza across from the Oakland Mall. They fit you very well, and they had an assortment of nursing bras for you to try on so that you know that it fits you comfortably. Hope this helps. Congratulations on you new little one.

Go to great lakes crossing there is a bra store there..

I wear the playtex 4426 nursing bra.

It isnot the prettiest bra in the world.. but it does the job.

The bra is cheap.. under $20 each..

Hi H.
I hope you read this before Saturday. I would suggest you go to Bra-Vo Intimates http://www.bravointimates.com/ right there in Royal Oak where you live. They are having a sidewalk sale Saturday July 19. They are helpful and know what they are doing. Getting a bra the size you need can be expensive but,let me tell you it is soooo worth it having the correct size and to be fitted properly. I have been in F,G & H cups and sometimes all 3 with one child. It depends on how your body changes. I speak from exeperience (5 nursed children). When nursing for the long haul we've got to keep the "Ladies lifted!":)Your breasts will go through more changes as your son gets into the rhythem of nursing. Your milk production will adjust to his needs. You will not stay at that engorged size for too long. I hope this was helpful and Congratulations on your new life as a MOM!!!-K.
P.S.-I did not suggest a certain brand or something online because there are so many variables with brands cup sizes. I have worn a few different brands. It is hard to know if you will get the right fit.Going to a place where you can try on the bras would be the better option.
