Okay moms, I am beyond confused. Last month I was 9 days late (this never happens) but my period was very strange. Normally I have my period for 5-7 days and it's fairly heavy. Last month last only 1.5 days, was bright red, one clot (tmi sorry) and light. Now this month I am at 10 days late and nothing. I am also SUPER nauseous. But every store test known to man says that I am not pregnant. I have no idea what to think and honestly I am getting worried. Has this happened to anyone else and what happened to you?? I am 36 and have two boys. No issues when I found out I was pregnant with either of them. OTC tests worked with both of them.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

My period finally started but I am planning to go to the doctor in the next week to get a check up. Something seems to be wrong. Again it was a very short period and that is not normal for me.

I know somone that had taken an OTC PG test at 7 months along and it still did not show positive.

Go to the doc.

When you say "every test," do you mean every over-the-counter test?

I think this is something you need to talk to your doctor about.

My first thought is, no big deal. I experienced something similiar not to long ago. I did have my period but it was longer than normal, shorter than normal, earlier than normal...all over the place (and I had nausea and some abdominal pain). It could just be stress.

As for the tests being negative, I friend of mine was getting negative results with tests at home and the doctor's office. When the doctor finally did a blood test that said she was pregnant, they did an ultrasound and found she was like 13 weeks along.

Check w/ your doctor.

You do not mention your age, but in my 40's, I was in peri menopause...and began to do the 'menstrual waltz'. I would skip a month. I would have 2 in a row. They were heavy, they were light!

I think a call to your OB/GYN in in order.

Best!

How old are you?
Could be peri-menopause.
Nausea can be from hormonal imbalance and not pregnancy related.
Talk to you doctor and have them check you out.
My friend's period problems turned out to be an early sign of breast cancer.
After chemo, radiation, lumpectomy and 5 years on chemical menopause (her type of cancer fed off hormones) she is fine and enjoying her retirement.

Well you are getting to the age where your period will not always be nice to you! And will have a mind of it's own! Signs of hormone levels changing... happens the older we get. :(
I would make an appt with your doctor to get that checked out so you know. She might put you on a BC pill to regulate periods (if you don't want anymore kids). I don't think you are PG either.
Good luck!

Yes I have had this same thing happen since my son was born. I had him when I was 40 and this started happening fairly soon after I stopped breastfeeding. Since I had to do a lot of fertility treatments to conceive my daughter (now 7), it expedited my peri-menopause.

Try not to stress about it. The more you stress, the worse it is. Get a Dr to check your hormones. Try to eat better.

Good luck and prayers!

You could go to the health department and ask them to administer a pregnancy test. I think my daughter has gone in several times and done that.

See your doctor to really confirm if you are pregnant or not.
