Thank you everyone for your advice. Exactly 3 weeks after I stopped pumping my period started. It seemed to be the sameway it was before I got pregnant, hopefully it won't trick me next month and be really bad! Thanks again!!

I am currently nursing my third boy. For my first, my period started around 10 months after giving birth and he stopped nursing at 13 months. For my second, it started around 2 years after, as he nursed quite a bit longer. Hope it helps!

I got my period pretty much right away. It took about 3 weeks or so. My son is now 7 months and I stopped breastfeeding after 4 months. This was my second child, and my first and second periods were extrememly painful. Don't be alarmed if you have A LOT of cramps. It was more apparent with my second child though. Unless you are on the pill it will also be very heavy. Best of luck and take motrin when you suspect it coming. Good for you for breastfeeding so long! :)

I am sure everyones body will start up again at different times but for me it was 8 weeks after I stopped pumping when my period started up again.

wow, I am so glad you asked that question, I have a 4 1/2 month old, and I have been dwindling down on the breastfeeding/formula and now doing more formula and will probably stop breastfeeding completely, soon - thanks for the question - it was right on my mind!

I think everyone is different and a lot depends on how long you nursed for. I nursed my son from January, when he was born, to mid-June. I got my first period at the end of August, but it will just depend. Good luck!

hi very soon i haven't stopped nursing yet and my period came back when my son was 6m old he will be one in two weeks.
