Newly Pregnant Seeking OBGYN in Motion Picture & Television Network

I am newly pregnant with my first child, and I need to find an OBGYN who is part of the Motion Picture network. In order for my insurance to cover it 100%, I have to get a referral to an OBGYN who has a contract with the Motion Picture& Television Fund. Any recommendations in the Los Angeles area? Burbank/Studio City/Hollywood/Beverly Hills?

What can I do next?

My husband and I typically go to the MPTF office in Woodland Hills. Six years ago, I was referred to Dr. Imelda Tio and Dr. Lauren Hyman in West Hills. They deliver at West Hills Hospital. We live in Sherman Oaks and I initially thought it seemed a bit far.... but I LOVED both Dr. Tio and Dr. Hyman and would highly recommend either of them. I ultimately had to have a C-section but they totally honored my birth plan and I felt really listened to me and helped make the whole experience a joy. Their office is at: 7320 Woodlake Ave # 280
West Hills, CA 91307

Not sure if she takes MPTN, but we LOVE Dr. Kim Reyes. She is in Burbank across the street from Disney/St. Joseph's.

I was referred by Dr. Moyer (GYN with MPTF in Burbank--but doesn't do births anymore)
to Dr. Edwards at St. JOhns in Santa Monica. He's old school, but took all my Tier 2 Insurance from MPTF perfectly. He did lots of Sonograms since he has a new machine in his office. I was happy for this, since I'm an older mom and it was my first! There are no OBGYNS working at any of the MPTF Centers. It might be too far west for you. But he did a good job, he's just pretty "by the book"

Well, this info is probably too late for this post since it looks like was a while ago, but Dr. Ben-Yehuda takes Motion Picture Insurance. He is located in Encino, and delivers at both Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles and Providence Tarzana. For more info, see his website at drbenyehuda.com. He went to UCLA Med School and did his residency at Cedars.

Hope this helps!

I have Motion Picture insurance as well, but so does my husband so I have "duel coverage". Therefore, I don't pay co-pays so I'm not sure if my OBGYN is contracted with them but I never paid a dime. I know that Cedars is contracted with Motion Picture and all the docs in the practice only deliver at Cedars so maybe you could check. I love Dr. Brown. She delivered my baby 2 months ago. They are in Beverly Hills on Rodeo Drive. The number is ###-###-####. Dr. Peter D. Weiss heads up the facility so you could check to see if he is linked. He's actually my doc but Dr. Brown was on call and delivered my baby. I think she has a softer approach although Weiss is great too. I live in Burbank so it was a pain to go there all the time but I think it's worth it if you really like the doc. Good luck!:)

I've got Motion Picture and I see Dr. David Newfield - ###-###-####. I needed a high risk OB and he is wonderful. Great bedside manner, really nice nurses and thankfully is very good at doing c-sections (I never planned on having one, but baby dictated otherwise & I ended up having an emergency c-section).

His office is in Burbank, across the street from St. Joseph's (where he also delivers). Call to see if he's accepting patients, if not, ask him for a MP referral. My GP gave me the wrong referral to a high risk OB, but I was able to get OB referrals from him that took MP & found Dr. Newfield.

I like this location too because it's not that far from the MP Toluca Lake office if you need to do any blood work or anything.

I hope this helps and congratulations!

Congratulations!!! My doctor is Dauphin-Baptiste. If you google her you'll find nothing but bad news, but I think she's actually great. She works at St. Joseph's in Burbank right next to Disney. She is really intuitive and spends a lot of time with each patient. That being said, sometimes you'll have to wait to see her.
I'm a costumer and some of my friends have used Dr. Dwight (spelling?) and really liked him too.
I think you should go to Toluca Lake (or whichever clinic you use) and get as many referrals as they will give you. See which doctor is a good fit for you and your husband.
I'm not a frou-frou type girl and prefer a "right to the point" person as opposed to a touchy-feely type.
Good luck!
