Anyone else looking forward to the new Dallas television series coming out in June on TNT? Think it'll be good? I sure hope so. It looks like it has some great characters from the last series, like JR (of course, lol) and Bobby Ewing. I think I saw that Sue Ellen will be there on previews.... I can hear the old theme music now....

What can I do next?

Boy, this makes me feel old! When I was giving a concert for my graduation requirements in college, I put up a poster inviting my friends to the concert that said "WHO SHOT JR? Come to mine and Greg's recital and STILL have time to get home and find out!"

I'm surprised that Larry Hagman is still alive! Now that I've written this, I feel even OLDER! LOL!

My husband and I are really excited to see it! But is there any way, really, that it can even come close to the original? The fights, the double-crossing, the DRAMA. Watching the original series on DVD is such an indulgent guilty pleasure, the calorie-free equivalent of eating a pint of Ben and Jerry's in one sitting. I hope the new version is as good but I'm not too hopeful given the other tripe that's generally on TV. Not that I don't watch it, haha.

it can't possibly live up. what remakes do? i netflix-ed the *newer* dark shadows recently just to see and it's AWFUL, with none of the penny-dreadful awfulness of the original<G>.
i can't imagine dallas without victoria principal's huge limpid eyes.
but we'll for sure check it out. we loved dallas.

I will definitely give it a try. I loved Dallas when I was a kid! Not sure how the new can live up to it though. We are a much more savvy society now. The lifestyles of the rich and famous are commonplace now whereas in the 70's it was fascinating. And of course there is little left out there that can surprise any of us now.

I'm looking forward to checking it out . . . one summer we got hooked on the series via DVD. When we got to the end of our library's collection we even bought a season or two!

I'm not sure if it could ever be as good as the original but it will be fun to see what they do with it.

Can't wait! My husband is actually the "Dallas" fan in our family. He has bought ALL the seasons on DVD. When friends see them and they say "oh S., I didn't know you loved Dallas". I'm like "yeah, No. Its honey bunny". They look at my husband and start laughing. He's not the "type". On rainy days hes like "lets have a Dallas Marathon". Oh yeah!!!! :)
