This is weird but I feel like I am having braxton hicks contractions. I should start my period on monday (or within a few days) and I tested negative on a pregnancy test, but I swear I am having BH like contractions....any one else experience this?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Totally started my period that night! It was a pretty awful day of cramps.

Unless they become painful (which then you should go to the doctor) I would wait a week more and have another test again.

One night I felt like I was going into labor... but I wasn't pregnant. Turns out my appendix was in the process of bursting.

Press on your ***lower right hand side*** of your stomach (deep) and then let go REALLY quickly. (As deep as you can and then pull away as fast as you can). If you're in agony AFTER you let go (rebound pain)... go to the ER.

I have them all the time and it is like being in actual labor. they are so sever i actually drop to my knees and have to breath through them as if i were in labor.
i have been having them since my last pregnancy and they are getting worse by the cycle. i will continue to do more research and visit the doctors office i will be back on here to leave more info if you would like. just do some web searching on (dysmenorrhea). it might give you an idea as to what might be going on. And by the way it is possible you are feeling contraction, cause the woman uterus contracts during her cycle and mine does before during and after. just remember that Every womans body is different. just listen to what your body is saying and see a doctor. Pain is often a sign of something not being right in the body. i hope this helps atleast a little. good luck otherwise

lol. maybe its gas, stool, or IBS. i doubt you would be having bh contractions without being pregnant. i suppose though you could have a miscarriage? which you would never notice i suppose under normal circumstances. i had a d&c so i dont know what its like to naturally miscarry, but chances are if you arent late, its probably not contraction related, or pregnancy related at all.

I'm betting it's just PMS. I frequently get cramps around that time. However, the test might be wrong.

I get a warm stretching sensation in my abdomen when I am pregnant - especially early on pregnant. I have thought in the past that this was mild cramping indicating that my period was coming soon. If this is what you are thinking (or maybe hoping) it is probably too soon for your hormone levels to register on an over-the-counter pregnancy test.

I'd go with bladder infection or UTI.

Could just be premenstrual cramps. If it persists, you may wish to call your gyn for peace of mind.

I think Braxton-Hicks contractions occur towards the end of the pregnancy and therefore suggest that your contractions/cramps are not an indication of pregnancy.

You could be having premenstrual cramping or you could have an intestinal bug which can also cause a crampy feeling. There are different feelings in cramps caused by a variety of things.

A bladder infection can feel that way. Make an appointment with your doc if it keeps up.
