Need Specialist for Ear Infections

My 9 month old son has been dealing with a double ear infection for 3 weeks and we've tried all the antibiotics. I'm taking him back today, and my Mom suggested taking him to a specialist. I want him to have relief soon and feel that it may not be much longer before we go the "tubes" route. Could anyone recommend a specialist? I have also heard that a chiropractor can provide great results. Thanks so much!

What can I do next?

My little guy went to daycare for awhile when he was turned 1. It was a mess and he had ear infections constantly. We ended up getting a referral to Dr. Jonathon Pillow in Edmond. He checked our child's ears in two scheduled visits (evaluating if he really needed tubes or not). He recommended not getting the tubes, and our boy has been fine without them. In fact, we took him out of daycare and put him on OTC Zyrtec for allergies which really helped alot. We really liked the doctor and I am thrilled we weren't pushed into just putting tubes in without really needing them. I would start with an ENT (ear, nose, and throat) if you haven't already.

Here's his info:

I have also heard that chiropractors are good for sinus issues, but I know how comfortable personally I would be to use it on an infant (probably because I don't know much about it, etc) - but everyone needs to decide what's right for their family. My cousin takes her 4 year old to a chiropractor in Edmond to help alleviate sinus issues - I believe his name is Dr Jackson? My cousin has really been happy with the results. It might definitely be worth checking into. I know how miserable the whole household gets with a little guy is so sick.

Good luck & I hope your boy feels better soon!

If you're in OKC or Yukon area I'd recommend Jason Sigmon. He's amazing and has a great bedside manner.

Dr Rick Visor at Mercy was amazing!!! My son had horrible issues with ear infections from 6 months until he was about 2 we went through multiple antibiotics most working at first but the ear infection would be right back..It was due to over sized adenoids and Dr Visor did in fact remove the adenoids put tubes in his ear and it has been over a year and he hasn't had an infection since.

My son had the same problem.. He had at least 20 ear infections until he was 20 months old. Then we got the tubes and they have been a lifesaver. At 3 1/2, he hasn't had an ear infection since! I would recommend Dr. Metcalf at Mercy.

My daughter also uses Dr. Jason Sigmon. I would highly recommend him. She had tubes put in through him and he did a wonderful job. His nurse is also very sweet and helpful. She helped me determine what was making my daughter sick with drainage all the time. I can't be more happy.
