I would appreciate if anyone has a great daycare center or provider they can recommend. I am interveiwing for a position next week and if hired would need to find daycare immediately for my seven month old. I live in Olathe but he job is in Leawood so Olathe or Overland Park would probably be the most convenient locations.

Thanks!

What can I do next?

Not sure if you still need the info but we use an "in-home" daycare called Grif-funs. I use the term "in-home" loosely b/c they do more than most formal daycares that our friends go to. They loosely use Montessori principals letting kids learn at thier own pace and using a lot of playing. They are located off 145th and Locust just south of Prince of Peace. They are a husband and wife team that have found thier passion with teaching and nurturing kids. I could go on and on about how amazing they are!

We LOVE Special Beginnings located between 135th and 143rd and Murlen. It is a private smaller christian daycare facility and the Owners really take care of the employees which means you actually get teachers in there that care and don't move around from one facility to another. In the infant room there are a few older teachers and younger ones but all of them have been there awhile. The facility is very clean and keeps up with all Kansas inspections and rules. You will definitely find that you will pay more for a facility then an in home daycare. We went back and forth on what to do, but I had some friends who had there kids in SP and loved it. Plus, I didn't know of anyone personally who did in home daycare and didn't want to take the chance of it. There seems to be too many crazy things happening. Let me know if you need any more information. Good luck with your search. I was the anal mom who started looking for daycare when I was 4 months pregnant - hee hee.
