I have just moved to the area and am 3 months pregnant and need an OBGYN. Would love any and all recommendations regarding groups and hospitals. I have a 10 month old daughter and previously had a c section as she was breech. I'm interested in a VBAC but don't have my heart set on any delivery method. Thanks for any advice!

What can I do next?

I'm also recommending OB-GYN Associates of Northern Indiana. All the docs are great but Dr. Wolfe is very kind and patient. And you can go to either hospital to give birth if your insurance is picky. Good luck finding a doc.

I go to Women's Reproductive Medicine to see Kristen Vincent, she is a midwife who works in conjuction with Dr. Destafano. Both are great! I am pretty picky about who tends to me but I have had such a great experience with the birth of my daughter and aftercare that I know I will go there as long as I live in this area. They are usually very prompt regarding your appt. time and I NEVER feel rushed. They give me plenty of time to discuss my care preferences and ask questions. Plus, I know she will probably be willing to work with you as far as a VBAC goes. Even if you are a bit skeptical about a midwife, I would encourage you to go. I learned a lot and felt really comfortable. You don't have to worry about medical emergencies b/c she works with Dr. Destefano. I ended up having to have an emergency c-section and he did a great job, plus she was there with me holding my hand the whole time. It's a plus to have that type of support your whole delivery. They are in South Bend and I think you should give them a try. ###-###-####! Good luck and God bless!

I work with several at a local hospital. I highly reccommend Obgyn of NOrthern Indiana. Its across the street from Memorial Hospital where the skyway is. Dr. Wolfe is the nicest doctor as well as Dr Lyons. Those are my 2 favorites. I have had 2 previous c-sections and I totally trust these 2 guys. Their # ###-###-####. I am pregnant also so I see them regularly and have nothing but good things to say about them and they are just as nice/caring to their patients as well as the people they work with.

I would recommend Dr. Kirsch. She is a very good doctor and easy to talk to. I have had her for about 5-6 yrs now. She is through Memorial Medical Group out of the Memorial Hospital.

OBGYN associates of Northern Indiana has great Drs... but their staff, including office manager, is SUB-PAR. If youre willing to suffer through dealing with the office staff, then definitely see Dr. Wolfe and Dr. Lyons. We are currently pregnant with our third and I just dont think I can handle another 10 months with those people! They will drive you crazy! They cancelled my c-section a week before hand... I spent most of my time on the phone trying to get someone who knew anything than being able to prepare for my newborn. Its insane the level of service- that office staff goes out of their way to make your day miserable.

Hi A..
I also go to Women's Reproductive Medicine & am happy with them. I see the midwife, but have had to see Dr. Kirsh with my first pregnancy (which we lost) & have met Dr. DeStefano & they all seem good from my experience. They only work with Memorial though, as far as I know, so if your insurance isn't with Memorial, then it may not work for you. We had to go elsewhere w/ my second pregnancy because of insurance & we didn't like them nearly as well as we like Women's Reproductive.
