NEED Monkey Ideas for 4Yo Bday

Hey there I really need some great ideas for my little girl's 4th Bday Party. Monday is her Bday but we are doing the party on the 15th so I have a bit of time to plan. Now there are going to be kids here from infant to 11yo boys and girls and ofcourse the parents. I want to not do over the top too many things but I really want them to have fun and enjoy themselves. We are going to have the party in our home in an open style room. So Any Ideas/Suggestions would be great and ofcourse (any money saving ideas are loved). Thanks

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Well I wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone but we had to cancel the whole party due to scheduling conflicts with family/friends and DH's work - plus my house was a disaster for various reasons (I HATE TO CLEAN & I went on strike with my daughters - another long story)
Anyway I really appreciated all the help. BTW the my little girl didn't mind b/c she got totally spoiled by her Great Granma instead and I am going to let her have an Unbirthday party later.

A while back Martha stewart showed the cutest monkey cake on her show and had monkey party ideas. The cake was banana flavored and baked in a stainless steel bowl to get a nice round head shape. sooo cute. I would go to her website and do a search on monkey stuff to see what comes up.
Good Luck!

you could go online, find monkey images that you like, print them, and make a banner for her by taping/stapling them together!

also, put out baskets of bananas instead of chips or candy.

have the kids color images of monkeys also as an activity, you can also find the, online.

oriental trading compnay is a GREAT idea as well!

HAVE FUN, it sounds like a great party!

How about a petting Zoo(outside of course). Kids that age love all kids of animals. We have Baby Rabbits, chickens, goat, and Pony. That will definatly keep them busy for an hour or so then take them back inside. As for the monkey theme, you can play games like pin the tail on the monkey and other popular games just change it to be about monkeys.

Since you like crafts why not make your own "pin the tail" game with a monkey and bananas or a monkey pinata filled with banana taffy and maybe one toy item to keep it simple. Oriental Trading.com is a great place to get stuff. Also you can make monkey puppets out of brown bags or socks from the dollar store and have the kids put on a puppet show....
I am not great at these things so if my suggestions are lame I am sorry! LOL

just relax and have fun!!!!

I found this web site that had some good ideas and the older kids that are coming can help with. I also found the recipe that is below for a snack food for the older kids. Hope this help you and have a great party.

What a coindidence! I am planning my 2 year olds Monkey themed party right now. I ordered plastic safari hats instead of regular birthday hats, I am renting a jungle themed bouncy castle/slide combo, serving banana flavored cake (I can send you recipes if you like), give treat bags to the kids with monkey stuffed toys, curious george puzzle, and other stuff like that, I'm making monkey shaped chocolate lollipops and cupcakes with monkey faces on them. Oh, and I have a chocolate fountain and bananas for dipping. I am just using primary colored balloons, table cloths and tableware. I am not planning on playing games with the kids or anything, but if you want to do that there are some great ideas out on the internet. I can't remember what ones I came across now, but they are definitely out there. Good luck! And if you want recipes or to borrow my monkey candy molds just let me know!

Good Morning F.,

Isn't it too much fun!! I loved setting up parties when my son was young. The one I remember the best, was we rented all these differet games (not real expensive) for them to play. It was like being at their own fair! We had tickets if they won and then we had some inexpensive (Dollar Store) prices for them. Boys and girls alike absolutely loved it. You can also design games yourself. Carry the egg on a spoon to your partner feet away from each other. Put the apple under your neck and try to give it to the person standing next to them by getting it under their neck. Balloon toss, where they gently toss a balloon (filled with a small amount of water) to their partner or their mom/dad.

Hope some of this works! Don't forget to video it!!!
