Need Ideas for Active 3 Year Old Boy

My son, who will be 3 in August, has a ton of energy! My husband and I are thinking of trying to get him involved in some kind of activity because we feel like he needs a constructive way to focus his energy. We were kind of thinking along the lines of gymnastics until he is old enough to participate in sports.

Does anyone have any ideas of any other organized activities for 3 year olds? Or any good gymnastics places in or near Frisco?

Thanks for the help!

Hi M.~

I, too live in Frisco and my son just turned 4 yrs, but for the last year (truly after his 3rd birthday) he has been doing karate. We live in NW Frisco and LOVE his karate teacher. He learned self-control (not always doing Sportacus gymnastics moves -the guy from the show LazyTown), respects (they answer "yes, sir/yes, mamamn", coordination (which was the main reason we started), and discipline.

It is Miller Martial Arts on the corner of Main ST/Teel - please stop in and let him know we told you. You can try a session out for free too. Please email me if you need specific contact information.

Good luck,
D.

Have you tried Excite? I take my 3 year old daughter to Excite. I think they have one in Frisco. She's gone there for about a year now and loves it. Ours also has "free play" days where you pay $5 and the kids can just play on anything with you supervising.

I take my son to Little Gym and he loves it. There is also My Gym or Gymboree, depending on what is near to you. You could also try www.soccertots.com Check your local rec center too. I bet they have classes for that age. Swim lessons are also a great way to expend energy.
