My daughter is turning 4 in December and we're throwing a "Frosty The Snowman" themed party for her. I'm looking for any and all ideas regarding activities, party favors, invitations, decorations, food, etc. I have a few ideas already, but still looking for some really clever ideas to make it a memorable event for her! Thanks everyone for your suggestions! The party was a success. We started with a simple icebreaker activity of coloring pages out of snowman-themed coloring books. Then we played a Frosty game that was essentially a ball-toss game. I had painted Frosty the Snowman on a big wooden board and my husband cut out circles where his buttons would be, and the kids threw whiffle balls (aka snowballs) into the holes. The kids loved it. After games, we had cupcake and ice cream and opened presents. After that the kids played the ball toss game some more until it was time to go. If you aren't crafty, you can purchase a similar ball toss game at Oriental Trading Co. For party favors, we gave away crayons, stencils, pencils, coloring books, and scarves like Frosty wears (I had cut a $6 flannel blanket into strips to make the scarves. One blanket makes about 20 scarves that are each 4 inches wide - perfect for kids!) Thanks again everyone!
I know I am a little late, but my 2 year old had a "SNO PARTY" with Candi on this past Sunday and they had a BLAST!!! She is a very nice and sweet person and best of all she comes to you. We have winter parties at my gym each year and the kids love these games.(1) Snowball Fights Put a line in the middle of the floor and let them throw large marshmellows at each other. Call stop and have them count the "snowballs" on each side.(2)Snowman race Have 2 teams.Each team wraps a child in T paper and then puts the buttons (paper and tape) on their snowman. Adults will have to help.Do not make it a race because you want everyone to win at this age.
(3)Ice Skating Let the children decorate paper plates.Place paper plates on the childrens feet and tie them on with string. Skate around the snowman playing winter wonderland music. Skate on tile or wood floors and make sure they only color one side of the plate. These activities can keep kids busy and happy for about 15 mins. each game.
I was looking through some old mamasource ideas for my son's party the other day and saw that someone posted something about a snowcone lady that comes to your house and each kid gets some "snow" to build a snowman with. If that person doesn't respond to you then you could just look through the old ideas and hopefully find it. Sorry I don't remember the site it directed me to. Very cute idea though.
If your going to have food not sure what kind if sandwiches use a snowman cookie cutter an cut the sandwiches out the shape as a snowman. Also makeing an decorating homemade sugar cookies recipe on the back of the Walmart sugar bag is really easy, good an cheap. A moonwalk would really be fun for the kids an easy for you. They stay occupied most of the time. I got that for my daughter almost every year. It made things so easy for me. lol Or you can have a craft for the kids to do if they are old enough to make a old fashion X-Mas Tree decoration out of dough. We always had a pinata kids loved that blind fold older kids but not the litte ones. Or pin the tail on the donkey when my daughter was really young. But you could make it pin the hat or carrot on Frosty or something like that LOL.
How about a game of "Pin the Nose on the Snowman?" (Or the hat or whatever) Make a snowman out of a large sheet of white tagboard (you can get it at Walmart or Hobby Lobby or anyplace that sells craft stuff). Add everything (except the carrot nose) using construction paper. Make several carrots and put each guest's name on one. Then cover their eyes, spin them around and let them try to pin (tape) on the nose.

Everyone could make their own snowman with tube socks-we did it last year with and the kids loved them. Also, you can make a snowman out of marshmellows, pretzel sticks, mini choc. chips and mini M&M's. Also, Oriental Trading and S&S crafts have all kinds of snowman related items. HTH, sounds like a fun party.
I think the real question is, How do we get an invitation to this party?!? Sounds like a blast!
Have all the party kids make a clay snowman that they can keep. Or buy small ceramic snowmen that they can all paint. This make a great activity plus there is their party favor as well. A fun game is to dress a snowman race.... Have2 adults or older kids volunteer and form 2 teams. The 'snowman' adults stand a good distance from the 2 teams the kids each have to take turns to run down and put the items on the snowman..... Scarf, hat, gloves, stickers for buttons, strap on nose you can even add a coat and boots whatever. They love to race. Don't forget to have a snowball fight with marshmellows and then a funny race to 'shovel' up the snowballs (clean up) using spoons...again make a couple of teams and place a bucket for each team and pass out the spoons. It is very funny to watch them try to use the spoons to pick up the snowballs and run them back to the bucket... The rule is no hands. For invitations... If you can find small frosty the snowman books, you can write the party info in the front and that make a great party favor as well. A small kids puzzle works great too. Write the infor onteh back and take it apart and send the puzzle with a note asking them to please put together for a special announcement. Now is the perfect time to pick up cute ornaments and you can write the party info on the back or put in the picture holding part if you pick that style. Also, i have seen super cute mitten coin purses that the little girls love. You can put the invite inside the purses or save them for party favors. Enjoy!!!
Im sure you have heard the idea but you could have the kids make their own snowmen with giant marshmellows and candy for its accessories.
I just went to Bahama Bucks in Rockwall this weekend. They have a reasonable price on "snowballs" that you can buy and put syrup on at home to make Hawaiian shaved ice treats. It looked like a fun thing for a party.
In my home daycare we have a snow day each year. I blanket the floor of one room with cotton balls $10 worth goes a lot farther than you would think. Then they don mittens scarves and hats and play in the "snow". They pile and scoop and they can throw as hard as they like with no damage. Then of course we have hot chocolate with our cookies for snack.
That's such a cute idea! One activity idea could be to "Pin the Carrot Nose (or other snowman body part) on Frosty".

Hi. My 3 yr olds party was in July. She loves Frosty the Snowman. We thought it would be funny to have an icecream cake with Frosty picture on it for a HOT birthday in July. We got a picture off the internet and printed it out. Then we took it to Cold Stone Creamery and they made a cake out of it. I also just bought some foam crafts for making Frosty's at Hobby Lobby. That would be fun to do and have kids take their own Frosty home. Have fun!
Invitations. Get a simple pattern for a 6-8 piece snowman. Cut out the parts and put into an envelope with the invitation either written on the largest piece or included in the envelope. The receiver puts the puzzle together, and there is the invitation.
Example: 2 round circles of white about the size of the top of a cup. Another round circle about the size of a silver dollar for the head. Black circles the size of a dime for eyes and coal buttons. Then a black top hat, a carrot shaped piece in orange for the nose and maybe a neck scarf or mittens for hands.
I saw this done and it is very cute.
A game could be: Draw a snowman on large poster board, very simple and pin the ??? on the snowman...carrot nose, corncob pipe, or hat and play like Pin the Tail on the Donkey.
Tape it low enough for there hands to be about at their shoulder level and use a bandana or a scarf for their eyes before turning maybe once as they are young.

There are so many cute things you can do. Martha Stewart has a "recipe" for making snowmen. If I remember correctly, you just roll ice cream balls in coconut, stack, and freeze, then trim with marzipan. Snow cones would also be great.
When my boys were little, we went to a winter-themed party. The hostess filled a sandbox with white foam popcorn for snow. It was a fun, less structured activity for the little ones. For a more a more structured activity, Oriental Trading Company has lots of glue-together crafts with a snowman theme. Young children will likely need adult help, but they could get something they could make and take home.It sounds like a great theme. Have fun!

Or get big marshmellows and pop cycle sticks and different decor and have them make there own eatable snowman. They have little cake decor tiny ones they can add for eyes. Or you could make they and put them in bags for them to take home.

We had a snowman party for my son's 2nd birthday in December. I have a really cute recipe for a cheese ball made into a snowman. It'll take some digging to find it, but if you're interested let me know and I'll find it. I served it with the Ritz crackers that are shaped like snowflakes. I also made him a 4 tiered snowman cake which was precious. I also served red and green peppers, red and green grapes, etc. I tried to stick to red and green foods. There's also a cute activity where they can use pretzels and large marshmallows to build a snowman. You can buy food color markers at Michaels for them to draw the faces on and eat.
My daughter's birthday is in early January and we did a snowman themed party one year. Check out Joann's for snow decorated plates, napkins, and cups. To put in the goodie bag, my daughter and I made fleece scarves. Very easy and inexpensive-no sewing required. Just cut a strip of fleece the desired width and length, then cut the fringe. Everyone loved them!
The kids could make snowmen out of jumbo marshmellows and decorate.
