I got a traffic citation for speeding 9 mph over limit in a work zone. This is my very first time in 12 years of driving. The fine is big. I need advise from those who had been into this situation. What is the best option to choose? Thanks in advance.

Both of my sons got speeding tickets too. They both went to the website amerisafetraining.com and you can register and they have classes at the Golden Corral and if you take the class you pay a reduced fine and it doesn't go against your license as far as points. Or you can go to hillsclerk.org and go to Online Records Search and click on Traffic Citation and go to court and they will extend your fine for 90 more days. Good Luck!

Marlene,
Do you have the option of doing driving school to reduce the fine? My DH did a driving school via DVD and it was really convenient. It came in the mail and he just watched it at his conveninece, then answered questions and mailed it all back. Good luck!

take it to court, they will let you off or at least point wise or both.

Go to court with it. Tell them that you want to 'preserve the integrity of my driving record', and they will usually withold adjudication.

Hi M.,

Appeal the ticket! most the time it will be dropped to save time of investigation and it costs nothing for you to do this.
