Need a Lot of Home Improvements!

We recently decided that instead of moving, we'd just fix up our condo. We need:

Painting
A bathroom overhaul (new tub, possibly sink, medicine cabinet, paint, fixing a cracked ceiling, new tiles)
Kitchen ceiling needs fixing (water damaged or something)
New carpet
New tiles in dining room and kitchen
Installing a deadbolt
Fixing sliding doors/screen doors
New/fix windows (in the winter ice develops inside them, and there is always condensation)
New window treatments

Does anyone have any recommendations or know someone local who could do any of these jobs?

Thanks!

A.

Hi A., I am sure you will be inundated with referrals, as the remodeling/additions/construction profession has been hit hard with the current recession. However, I would like to recommend my husband, Mike Taft - his business is Taft Construction www.taft-construction.com He specializes in additions and remodeling and has been in business for about 35 years and is highly respected in his field. He can give references from customers upon request. His phone number is ###-###-####. He is starting a small addition in a few weeks that was delayed due to a variance issue but may have some time available before that for some of your issues. You would have to speak with him directly. He has done a lot of work in Andover/North Andover. Call anytime & leave a message; he returns his calls in the evening.

A.,
I have just the guy for you! His name is Chris Guierrio ###-###-#### and he is not only good for the money but he only takes on one job at a time, which means that you don't need to worry about him taking off mid-job to finish or start some other project. I believe that he is based out of Wilmington or Andover.... not sure. We had our bathroom done a few years ago and I have recommended him to many of the realtors that I work with and all have been very pleased. He was pretty busy last time that I spoke with him(as he only does one job at a time) so if your time table allows I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!! Be sure to mention my name if you give him a call - it seems to get him in the door quicker! Good luck with your search.

Hi A.,

My husband owns his own tile installation business (Della Penna Tile). He does a great job and I'm not just saying that because he's my husband :) He does work for different builders in the Boxford, Andover and Bedford, MA area and others in NH, plus he's a subcontractor for Lowes. He's really good about calling customers back, he's extremely punctual and meticulous with his work. His name is Jeff and his number is ###-###-####. Of course he's fully insured and has references if you'd like. He wouldn't get into any remodeling or anything, but he would refer you to someone that he knows that does remodeling - who does a very nice job as well.

Let me know if you need any more information or if you have any questions.
