Hi Moms! I need to find a great pediatric ENT doctor for my sweet daughter. Our pediatrician gave us a list, but I want references. I'm pretty sure she will have to get tubes, so I want to know who helped your child & why they are great. While bedside manner is nice, I really want a great doctor. I can put up with grumpy if he will help my child! We live in far north Dallas, but are willing to go wherever we need to for the best doctor. Thanks for your input!

Another vote for Dr. Mehendale at Centennial Medical Center. I asked the same question here about 3 weeks ago, and got an overwhelming amount of responses for Dr. Mehendale at Centennial Medical Center. I immediately made an appointment with him - and guess what, the ladies where right. He was so wonderful with my son, and I immediately felt like I could trust him. And his staff was fabulous as well. I will continue to recommend him to anyone who needs a pediatric ENT.

My daughter is hearing impared so I have been to several ENT's. She also goes to a deaf ed school in Plano and most of the kids in her class go to the same doctor. I love him he is very straight forward. He treats all ENT related issues not just hearing impared kids. His name is Dr Bauer and his website is http://www.entforchildren.net/ . If you have any other questions let me know. But as you will see on his website he was voted best doctor in America for the last two years. Good luck!

Like several others, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Rohn at Plano Presby. He is awesome with kids and adults. He has now done surgeries on both my son and my husband. He removed the adnoids and put tubes in my son's ears right after he turned four. (Chronic ear infections suddenly started after three years of my son being the healthiest kid ever. After a year of this, mastoiditis and slight hearing loss, we got Dr. Rohn's help.) At the procedure, Dr. Rohn and the anesthesiologist were amazing. They came and saw my son in the pre-surgery room and warmed him up by talking and playing with him. Then when it was time, they quickly swept him away in a wagon to the surgical room. It made it all like a big adventure so my son never even felt scared and it helped us too because we didn't have time for tears and my son didn't have to chance to sense our concern. It has been over a year and we've been ear infection free and his hearing returned to normal! Thank God for his healing power and providing us with great doctors like Gregory Rohn!

Hi There..I wanted to recommend Dr. Mehendale at Centennial Medical Center. He is great!! My oldest son has had to have 2 sets of tubes and his tonsils and adenoids removed. We felt like we were in great hands. He has an amazing bedside manner and a wonderful staff. Most of my friends take their kiddos there. Tubes were the best thing for my son - the procedure only lasted 15 minutes and he was the same energetic guy one hour after the surgery. His number is ###-###-####. Good Luck!

My daughter got tubes at 9 months due to chronic ear infections. We used Dr. Biavati and loved him. He has gone above and beyond to help us. When her tubes were clogged on a Saturday morning, we called him and he met us at his office to take care of it and never even charged us. Even the nurses and the anesthesiologist that took care of my daugher said he is the best. Good luck!

NEIL WILLIAMS ! He is also with Irving Coppell ENT (someone already left you the website). Dr. Williams is absolutely wonderful. He has GREAT bedside manner. He has three girls of his own. Both my kids have been his patients. Surgery was not always his first option, which I liked. But when he thought it was necessary, would fully explain why.

Dr. Michael Biavati. He is the best in the DFW area and is who my pediatrician said he would use if it were his children. As you read below, there or more recommendations for him than any other ENT. Not only is he the best, but is SOOOOOO nice. Both of my twin girls had chronic ear infections and one of them so bad that we had to put tubes in her ears. She has been great ever since. His surgical facility is fabulous. His number is ###-###-####, and address is 8325 Walnut Hill Lane Suite 100, Dallas, TX 75231. I would definitely go see him ASAP!

Hi S.,
I am not here to ripple the water, so to speak, but wanted to recommend a second opinion with Dr. Deborah Bain in Frisco. She helped us avoid tubes through food intolerance testing. We removed the foods and in the past year have not had one ear infection. I added cheese back into their diet for two meals within a 24 hour period, and my now 3 year old got an infection two days later. It has cleared up since I am no longer giving her cheese and I treated it with 'ear drops' that has garlic and some flower in it. Just thought I would share this suggestion in case tubes could be avoided. Dr. Bain states that 95% of ear infections are a food intolerance.....if you want/need more info, just let me know.

My little boy had to have ear tubes at 6 months old. We had tons of ear infections before that. We used Dr. Evan Bates at Southwest ENT. Everyone there has a great bedside manner, Dr. Bates has 4 children of his own, and I wouldn't choose anyone else. The pediatric anesthesiologest (I just know I spelled that wrong, but you know what I'm trying to say) was wonderful. I can't remember his name, but he works closely with Dr. Bates. I'm sure it will all go great!

Dr. Henry Carder at Presby Dallas is the best - hands down. In fact, he is one of the few pediatric ENTs in town. He's in his late 60s or early 70s and has been treating children for over 30 years. His daughter, Robin Carder, is a pediatric dermatologist should this need arise. Good luck with your baby's ears!

Dr. Gottlieb was amazing, he did a tonsillectomy on my son and is good friends with my pediatricain. We have had very bad surgery care in the past and my Pedi knows how nervous I can be. I can honestly say I have never recieved better care.

We had a rush service do to his problems and his staff was wonderful, we did have to drive a bit for his surgery but he explained why he liked the surgery center so much better than the hospital. We could have used the surgery center just minutes away but prefered him to be comfortable and appreciated his honesty on why he woudl prefer to not use the hospital. He also works with the most amazing anesthesiologist. Some of preivous probems were anesthesiaologist and nursing and I am so glad I went the them.

I know you've already gotten another suggestion other than tubes, but I just thought I'd tell you that my son went to a very reputable ENT, was all set to get tubes, and then someone suggested the chiropractor. I was very nervous about my 13 month old enduring surgery and having holes cut in his ears, so I decided to try it. He's been going for about 3 weeks now, and is doing great!! He hasn't had an ear infection since, and he would have normally had one by now. Plus, he's breathing better, sleeping better, and any drainage he gets from weather changes is easily suctioned out of his nose.
Sorry - I know there's alot to think about, but I just feel I have to tell people of the wonders it has done for my son!
Hope your little girl feels better...ear infections are the pits!!

Hey I wanted to mention that we had the same thing--chronic ear infections. I tried several things and finally took my daughter completely off dairy and they cleared up. If you are nursing, you will also have to quit consuming dairy. Just an FYI. I would run far from Dr. Peskind. We liked the others we saw--Rohn & Mehendale.

Hi S., I would highly recommend Dr. Frank Theilen with Irving Coppell ENT. Like yours, my son had cronic ear infections. He had tubes put in when he was 15 months. Unfortunately, he still had ear issues, which we knew might happen. He's six now & we decided to go back again. This time, he had his tonsils & adnoids removed and tubes back in his ears. His asthma & allergies have improved tremendously and he hasn't had one ear infection this year at all! He is sleeping better without snoring. Nothing like a snoring kid! Anyway, Dr. Theilen was great with our son and us. Very good with kids. Here's a link to their website. http://www.irvingcoppellent.com/ Good luck! L.
