Nail Polish on My Blue Carpet!!!

Has anyone tried to remove nail polish from carpet using a combination of shaving cream and Windex? I've heard that this works, but I wonder if I should use regular shaving cream or the gel kind. If anyone has any better ideas I would appreciate them. I am aprehensive about using polish remover because I fear it may discolor my carpet. It is dark pink polish on the stairs with blue medium blue carpet (lighter than dark blue, but darker than light blue...lol). Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

I had a painter spill a good amount of paint on my carpet, and he used De-Natured Alchol, available at Lowes or Home Depot to clean it. He said that it is a "painter's secret", so maybe it would work on your nail polish. As with anything, be sure to check it in a small, hidden spot (maybe a closet) before you go for it!

Have you tried GooGone? It is citrus and all natural. I have used it on carpet stains and it works. You may need to let it sit for a little bit and then scrub with a wet rag.

Never had nail polish on carpet.. but i had nail polish on linoleum (sp?) flooring.. There's this stuff called KRUD KUTTER (it's a spray bottle, red lettering, yellow background)that got it all out.. Possible could get it out w/ out damaging the carpet.. Good Luck!
