Hi S.,
I had this same thing happen to me when I was painting my daughters toenails and of course she kicked and over went the blue nail polish! I use a solution of sol-u-mel and melamagic together to get the blue stain out of the carpet completely. Both products are from Melaleuca and their ecosense line (non-caustic and tea-tree oil based!). If you would like some info on how to shop and a list of other cleaning concoctions for your home send me an email. Also, if you live nearby, I'd be happy to come by and help get that stain out right away!

You can use nail polish remover on hair, on the carpet you would be safe if it is natural fibers, but if it is made with synthetics you need to test it on a hidden place first.the color though might not completely come out but it will take the harder resin off

I just started working for a company called Melaleuca, it's online -- anyway, I haven't had the chance to try it yet, but they have a product that claims to remove nail polish from carpet. It's call Sol-umel. I just got my welcome packet and this was the only item I didn't receive and so I haven't tried it yet -- I should have it next week. Look up Melaleuca online and if the company interests you, then send me a message back. I'm excited about using the new products, it's a 'green' company and I'm excited about making my house a safer place for son & myself.

You can try non-acetone nail polish remover, but be careful with it. My d got polish a long time ago on carpet in my room. We had no problem removing from the long looped part of the carpet (using a clean soft clean and gently rubbing) but the part that had a berber type looping did not want to come off. It ended up in the garbage. I was very glad it was not wall to wall.

Achohol grem soap & tea tree oil mix together in right combination, OR try bug spary. You can try non-acetone, but be careful, it will eat away your carpet. I hear you can buy the soap & ____@____.com Luck!

Shaving cream works-but you have to use it right away. I tried it on some old fingernail polish and it didn't make much of a difference but on some we spilled and used it right away it removed most of it. You have to scrub it.

We just had this problem. Blotting with hydrogen peroxide did the trick. Our stain was quite fresh but you can barely see even a hint of color (bright blue) in the cream carpet now. We did try it on an older red polish stain. It helped a little but that stain is still there.
