My Western Problems! What Are Yours?

Had to drink horrible tasting stuff yesterday to have a colonoscopy/ endoscopy and a few biopsies today. Nothing serious suspected this time. But a reaction to the anesthesia: my white mini blinds and shutters were hot neon pink and everything forest green was bright powder blue in my house. The doc asked, "has this ever happened before?" I wanted to say "oh yeah, man, the last time I dropped acid! But dude, there was no lime green this time."
Still have 12 stitches in my foot and a small hole in my thigh from mole removasl last week.
Oncologist did not schedule my tests the real specialist asked for this week. He wants to see me first to see if he thinks should have some others done! Now I have to wait yet another week to get scheduled for treatment that could save my life.
And yes, my house is a mess!
But, Praise the Lord, am alive!

You're right to thank God that you don't have worse things. To brighten your day, look at it this way.

1. Your family is visiting you. You have family to visit you.
2. You can afford a house keeper.
3. You have a car that runs and can afford to fix it when need be.
4. Colds will make them stronger.
5. Your one year old has the manual dexterity to scribble.
6. You have a husband, he enjoys physical activity, and can afford to golf.

Sounds to me like your life is pretty great! Time to look on the bright side!

My husband is a little too good in bed......I HAVE to sleep in tomorrow and my diamond shoes are a little too tight.

I know it's not funny...but I'm laughing...sorry! It is just that all this stuff has happened at once.....good luck to you....and you are funny even if you didn't mean to be. No problems here...that I can think of.

My SoCAL (or Western) Beach Vacation....last night there....

After driving over 2500 miles from Calgary to Camp Pendleton to camp with my sister, but first to take care of my convalescent mother...this was my last night at the beach..

We had a bonfire on the beach, and as we were cleaning up, I sent all the kids (6 total) down to take a shower before bed.
While I was in the RV, packing, in hops my nephew, saying he tore the skin off of his big toe. Now, I spent the entire summer (6 weeks) fixing his boo-boos. He is 15 years old, and has grown over a foot in the last few months and constantly banging himself up and in general is full of self-inflicted injuries.

So I sit down with his foot in my lap to examine, remove sand and blood and tissue, when in runs my son. My mother’s instinct was on fire...something terrible had happened. He’s in shock and cannot talk...and I see lots of road rash on his body. Now, I have unplugged my RV, so run him over to my sister’s RV, where she has been using her shower, so I can rinse him off and take a closer look. I get him into the shower and start to examine his wounds and ask how this has happened. He was riding back from the showers, and sitting on the front handle bars of his cousin's peg bike, with towel wrapped around his neck, when his cousin hit a speed bump, his towel got caught in the front spokes and this flipped him over the front of the tires, making him slide several feet on the sand covered pavement. He is practically in shock, and my sister is going a bit nutso, saying I’m babying him...and I’m now pissed at her, so leave with my son, bloody, and dripping wet back to my RV. When I realize that my dog, in the haste of the moment, followed me out the door over to my sister's, but was distracted by an animal in the bush. She is now waiting nervously outside, quite happy that she found a skunk, with me not happy about her stinky find at all.

So, the dog gets put in her outside caged area...and somehow she knew not to whine at me all night. I finish bandaging my nephew's toe (his parents are in Europe, my husband is in Italy); my son is cleaned, rubbed with Polysporin, tucked in bed, I have to close my window so as not to smell my dog all night. I am too beat to take a shower now.

The following morning I have to get my RV into the shop to repair the muffler, and pick up de-skunking remedies at the pharmacy.

Needless to say, my morning was not off to a good start....and I was stressed from the night before and needed some R&R from the beach vacation. And I still had to drive 2500 miles home.

I am blessed to have children to take care, the knowledge to take care of them, the $$ to repair my RV, and drive it around for the summer.

I believe that we did not miss your point, but that you have an abundance to be thankful for, and no one's life is ever perfect.

Ugh! Sorry you didn't really get what you wanted from your light-hearted post. There are times when I want to post about the day's (minor) problems that all seem to occur at once, just to laugh about it and hear what's happening with others, but I know I'll hear about how I should get over it and remember all that I should be thankful for. Of course I'm thankful for those things, but I can still wish for all to be in order!!

I absolutely love your title. While I was cleaning my toilet today, I thought how lucky I am to have running water & fresh water to drink. Just that, never mind that I can't get my iphone and computer to sync: )

My baby died last month. Since then, pretty much every day has been crappy. Please appreciate what you have and try not to sweat the small stuff.

I'm sorry that this visit will be stressful. Try and relax. Your family should be able to pitch in and help. That's what family is for.

My problems? I am practicing taking no care. If I take any care, then it's like saying that God can't handle my business. I know he can and he wants to. So I have no care.
