My 7 Week Old Has Had a Cold for About 3 Weeks

My 7 week old daughter has had a cold for about 3 weeks. It has improved, and I've been sick this whole time as well. Am I giving her the cold?
Should I be worried. The Dr. saw her at her one month well visit and said she was fine. She hasn't ever had a temperature. Should I be concerned?
Is there anything I can do to get us both recovered?
Are we passing the cold back and forth?
I am breastfeeding. Thanks for any responses.

What can I do next?

Good for you for breastfeeding...you are doing the best for her and sending immunities to her for this illness. My experience with sick breastfed babies is this: An average formula fed baby will get sick and be VERY sick for 3-4 days. The average breastfed baby will get sick mildly for a few weeks. I assume its just that the immunities are working so the illness is less severe, but it persists instead of running its normal course. Keep a humidifier going and nurse as much as you can. The more breastmilk she gets the faster she can fight it off. Good luck! :)

Wash your hands a trillion times a day and wash hers as well (Because she's probably putting them in her mouth). Go for a walk outside every single day no matter what - just dress her for any kind of weather. Open a few windows for an hour or so to get some new air... just turn up the heat if you need to. Limit close facial contact for a few days to decrease exposure to germs. I've worked in hospitals for years and if you follow this advice you'll be so much healthier - I swear by it.

J., use your instincts. Take her back to the dr. especially if she is coughing. If she just has a runny nose/congested, not as serious. You are probably giving it back and forth......does your dr. have a call in? I can call my dr. office between 7-8 am before the office opens and chat with a problem. Check if they have that and you can call with your concerns. Its scary when they get sick, but if you think it's more serious, or are worried....call and take her in. Better safe than sorry when it comes to the kids. Good luck and congratulations!!! N.
