Hello Mamas..
We will be moving to Georgia hopefully within this next school year. Where can I find information on the best schools? My daughter is in the Gifted and Talent program at her current school. Thank you! I appreciate your help.

What can I do next?

I grew up in Cobb County...there are absolutely top notch schools there...there are also a few duds, so I'd make sure to check all the schools out. Where are you moving to? If you are moving closer to atlanta, City of Decatur has great schools to (so I've heard)...make sure to distinguish between City of Decatur and Decatur...quite different! let us know where you'll be and we can help out more!

Columbia County has the best schools in GA if you are moving to the Augusta, Ga area go for Columbia County. stay as far away from Richmond county as you can.

We moved here a year ago from LA and used many web sites to research schools. Great Schools was my favorite while my husband preferred another one. Once we found several we liked we went and visited them. We were able to get a feel for the teachers, staff, students and administration. Be aware that just because your child is in a gifted and talented program here they do not have to put them into a program there. Many school districts do not have them and the criteria change from state to state. When we moved from IL to LA they would not accept my son even though he had been in a G&T program. We were not happy about it. He was later accepted to the accelerated high school for the whole state which sort of made me even madder. Good luck, you did not say where you were going in Georgia but it is a great place, our oldest was born there and we love it.
