The North Buckhead community is wonderful. We have one of the best elementary schools in the state and it is part of the International Baccauleate Program. Some of the best private schools are in the area, as well as, some of the best shopping.

Good Luck

Hello J.,

I live in Gwinnett County which has great schools. I am selling my house at the moment because I am having my parents come live with us and we need more room. My house is in a small 12 house neighborhood. It is in a cul-de-sac lot and faces a private wooded lot. It is very quiet and peaceful and all the neighbors are very nice caring people. If you would like to see pictures then you can email me at
____@____.com love Gwinnett county as it has great parks and schools and we are moving further north but will still be in gwinnett county.

thanks

Hi,

I'm Jackie
(Stone Mountain, GA - Dekalb Co.)

I would recommend looking at schoosl in these counties:
Fayette County - my #1 suggestion
Cobb County - good
Gwinnett County - good
Henry County - good
N Dekalb County OK(around the Alpharetta, Dunwoody, Sandy Springs, Roswell area)
Rockdale County OK

DO NOT consider Clayton County - the worst!!!!!

I live in NE Dekalb County and I wish I had considered schools first when I purchased my home, but now with a 9 year old daughter, I constantly fight the school system to get my child a good education in the public system. Coming from private school to public is a big difference, but with the right public school, it's ok and I have transferred my child out of zone to get a better education for her.

Good luck on your move and contact me if I can be of assistance.

I just relocated last August from Virginia. I would suggest looking for an area close to where you'll be working. The traffic here can make your commute a nightmare. I currently live in Gwinnett County and love. The school district had some of the better ratings. For schools, you can check their report cards at http://www.schoolmatters.com/

Hi J.,
I live in Duluth GA. We are about 20 minutes north of Atlanta. The schools are great and the area is close to everything. I'm not sure what price range house that you will be looking for, but the Berkeley Lake area is wonderful. My daughter attending Berkeley Lake Elementary School and it was a wonderful experience. She now attends Duluth Middle School and again the experience has been positive. It's a great area. Good luck with the move and with finding a home! Please let me know if I can answer any questions for you. I've lived in the Metro Atlanta area my whole life.

Take Care,
L.

Hello J.,

This is a message from M. from Holland (The Netherlands).
We are moving to the USA in June, we are going to live in Canton (about 30 minutes from Atlanta City).
We have found a beautiful house in the subdivision BridgeMill, it looks very relaxed and the are a lot of cilds- activities, swimmingpools and a lot of children are playing in the quit streets.
But maybe you have found yourself a nice place to live already, I hope so.
As "new Atlanta Moms" maybe we can help each other!
Greetings from M.

Hello. Good luck with the move! I live in Marietta. Good public schools here. Sope Creek Elementary is a great school---extremely high rating. Dickerson Middle School is great and the high schools they feed into are really good. Hope that helps!
