I was wondering if anybody who moved overseas had any of their items brought with them by cargo ship????We do not have much but some big things would like to brings with us so our kids can have something familiar. DO you remember how much it was??? Company you would reccomend???? I looked online but most of it was for LARGE shipments for companies. Thanks in advance:)

L., we moved from the US to Korea, then Sigapore, and finally back to the US. We shipped our bed, clothes, some family pictures and a few dishes. KAT was the shipping company. They did a great job. It is important to take some things that will make you and your children feel like they are at "home' in another country.

I have absolutely NO advice about moving overseas, but I did want to bid you 'Godspeed' with your young family!

We have done overseas moves, but it has been company paid. Having said that the large moving companies do have information on overseas moves that is very helpful. And go ahead and ask for a quote you might be surprised.

Hi L.,

We moved from the US to Switzerland about a year ago. The company paid for the move, so I have no idea of prices, but I know we had the options of a 20 foot container )partial move) or a 40 ft container (full move). A 20 foot container will hold quite a bit and it took about 4 weeks or so to arrive. The company had 2 different companies come and give quotes before they selected one.

Good luck swith whatever you decide!

Hi L.,

So sorry I don't know the answer to your question - we just repatriated to the US from Japan, and Cendant through Santa Fe Shipping. And it was a full house we moved, from the US to Japan, and then back again. I can only imagine what it will be like for you to go back to Russia. I hope you'll still write to Mamasource from there.

I just wanted to say Good Luck, and God's Speed!
D.
