Moving Across Country
Does anyone out there have any helpful suggestions for moving a family across country? Any moving company recommendations? Where is the best place to buy moving supplies?
thanks, E.

Hey E.,
My sister-in-law & 2 of my brother-in-laws work for Bekins van lines so maybe I'm a little biased but I think they're a great moving company. My family has used them & been more than happy with how well everything went & I will definately use them when I move. My sister-in-law's # there is ###-###-####, her name is Mandy. Also I am a realtor with Coldwell Banker & my last listing sold in 7 days. I have a background in Interior Design & I go in & stage the home for no extra charge & it really seems to make a difference in this market. You can call me if you have any questions, ###-###-####.

Hi, Check the FREE section on Craig's list for moving boxes and paper that people are finished using.

I recommend Pickens-Kane. Yes, they're expensive.
When I lived downtown, I was a board member for my condo association so we saw lots and lots of movers going in and out. Hands down, Pickens-Kane was the most professional and careful with items.

I can't help with the moving company because we used one local to our old home in VA, but I have LOTS of boxes and some packing paper to give away if you can come pick them up. We like in Oak Park. If you are interested I will send you my email address so we can coordinate.
