Good luck with your move. I've moved many times so I understand the need for inexpensive/cheap boxes. If you are going to use a moving company, they usually give you all the boxes you want for nothing. The UPS Store has moving boxes in bundles that were always cheaper than U-Haul (expensive boxes). You might try the UPS Stores or Shipping stores near universities...SMU or UTD...because the students are getting ready to start moving at the end of the semester and they might be running sales on boxes. Hope this helps.

Oh! If you are moving dishes, I highly recommend spending the money on the U-Haul dish boxes. They come complete with the individual wrapping for each plate or glass and the separaters to keep everything from bumping together.

I went to Walmart and they gave me good quality boxes. You have to catch them before they crush them. Also, a friend picked up a bunch for me of varying sizes from a liquor store. I did have fun with family & friends who saw all the liquor boxes since they know I don't drink. I have seen on the news recently a new business that sells new & used boxes and will buy them back from you too. I'm sorry I do not remember the name. Thought you might find it on the main new channel websites or post a question there, ie Ch4,5,8. Hope this helps.

Try going to walmart early in the morning. The meat dept has the best boxes! They are heavy duty and very sturdy

i would try www.craigslist.com and go under the city you live and then hit free and sometime they have them there .... just depends... i found serveral on there.... good luck...

Go to Big Lots. Their trucks usually come in on mondays. They will give some out when people need them.Also, you can buy really cheap blue bags at IKEA to transport clthes in. I like them for grocery shopping as well. They are pretty big and they hold alog.

I am not trying to be a "Debbie Downer", but please be prepared for a fight while having your house on the market. We did it last year, and finally just took it off the market - we decided to try it later. Like the beginning of 2009.

Try to think of creative ways you can personally market your home. (Even though you probably have a realtor.) Your neighbors should see the fact that you are selling ALL over the neighborhood, including grocery store windows! Realtors put it in the paper, list it online, and in MLS. That is as far as they typically go. Don't get me wrong... those are all HUGE things to do, especially since that is how most people are looking for a house! But, in this market, it never hurts to do some things on your own. Unless, of course, you have it priced WAY low! :(

About the boxes... liquor stores, grocery stores, and there are even some "used" box stores. They are nice boxes - just used for moving.

got to the local grocery stores..tehy always have boxes. you can ask them. my friends have done it, and they helped them out. Try even going to Wal-mart. They are always unloading products and have tons of boxes. Good luck!

My husband sells gently used moving boxes. Small = $1, Medium = $1.50, Large = $2.00, Wardrobes = $5.00. We have about 200 right now. Give me a call if you are interested:

Have you tried grocery stores? Talk with the store manager and see what days are for re-stocking and see if they have extras. You can also try the Container Store. Hope this helps!

If you are working with an agent have them send a message out to other agents in their office for moving boxes - guess what they know tons of people who move all the time and they can usually find a ton free if you have not chosen one, I can give you a name.

Use all of the suggestions - I found that liquor stores/grocery stores have a certain size box - usually smaller - good for books, etc. I used Craigslist when moving from CA and got moving boxes/packing peanuts/bubble wrap for FREE - go to the free category and type moving boxes or boxes in the search. It was great, and I got rid of them the same way. Good luck!
